For those who are interested in knowing, the Masuda Method is a way to get Shiny Pok?mon through breeding. You use two Pok?mon, each from a different region (One from Canada, and one from Japan, for example.) This apparently increases the chances of hatching a Shiny Pok?mon (Cool right?). BUT, while I don't remember the chances of getting a Shiny, I do remember it still isn't that easy. I just wanted to know, did anyone successfully get a Shiny this way, without a Shiny Charm? And is it worth it? I was thinking of doing this with my Rapidash and Japanese Ditto.

Thank you! :)

It was mostly by luck since I was breeding some pokemon for IVs, and I got a shiny honedge and azurill. I wasn't really looking for them to be shiny, but I guess it's pretty cool.

It really all depends. Its a luck or luck out kinda deal. Sometimes it takes 9-20 eggs for a shiny, others 1000, so it really is all luck, I personally don't do it because of how tedious it is, shiny chaining is easier for me.

My sister has done it twice with less than 400 eggs each, but I have hatched 1000+ eggs and never got it once. Even if some pokemon look cool as a shiny it is not worth it to me as it is a huge waste of time. I mostly breed for natures, IVs, and abilities. Those are more worthwhile to me and they are useful for online matches.

I do this method and I will vouch that it does indeed work. In my old pokemon x game I have made a few shinies like fletchling. In my older omega ruby game which I played a lot I made my team shiny gastly eevee snivy kangaskhan froakie torchic and a few others. It takes some time but not impossible.... the iVs involve luck though.

In my newer oras I just made a shiny beldum 5IV in the wrong place so its sad. I dont even notice I get a shiny. Im just breeding for IVs.

I dont have a shiny charm btw

Thank you! I'm thinking of trying it just to see! I'm glad someone said it was worth it. :)

I personally don't think it's worth it. But then again I don't go out of my way to get shinies in-game anyway

Yeah, I've decided to just do the chaining. It's wayyyy quicker (already got two Shiny Pok?mon today) and plus, I actually found out that the Pok?mon I needed (Ponyta) is in the DexNav as a hidden Pok?mon, so I can just chain for it instead of hatching 1000+ eggs. :)

Yeah you can just aim for those ivs and dont think about it. I just got a shiny cleffa now with 5ivs in the right places but shes calm. I wanted a bold one. Sob

I must have hatched about 20 tympoles until I got a shiny, and then not even 2 later I got another shiny.

The Masuda method definitely works. I'm someone that's had the unfortunate luck of not finding a single legitimate shiny pokemon for myself ever since pokemon Silver's release, but I received my first ever shiny through the masuda method so yeees it definitely works and the odds of finding a shiny in comparison to wild pokemon encounters is significantly greater

Yesterday I hatched my first ever shiny using the Masuda Method. I was using a Japanese ditto, and on my 75th egg I hatched a shiny spritzee. I was starting to wonder myself if it even worked because I've tried to do it before and never had any luck. I felt it was worth it in the end and I will keep on trying to hatch that shiny honedge now.

Done it a couple times but it suuuuucks! The results are definitely worht it though.

I don't think so. I got it to the point where I was always breeding Eevees with really good IVs. So I decided on breeding for a shiny. 100+ Eevees hatched and still no shiny. I'm going to try the pokeradar next and see if I have better luck.

I got a couple of shinies after about 400 eggs. But now I am currently trying to get Honedge and I lost count of how many eggs I hatched and I still don't have it. Steel is also annoying because it takes forever to hatch. I could never get chaining to work though.
