I've seen people with dozens of millions of bells from selling turnips and I'm thinking about doing it. Is it worth it and how much should I buy?

Of course its worth it, and its even easier than in past games thanks to forums like this or reddit, since you dont have to worry about having bad prices on your town and you can sell them in another town

buy a lot

if you have time/space in your town, yes it's definitely worth it. You can make at least like 10mil a week if you invest enough in them and get a good selling price.

Turnips is all math based.

For example: let's say you buy turnips at 100 bells. Let's say someone on the forums has a price of 500 bells and lets you sell in their town. You've just multiplied however much money you spent by 5. (Don't forget to tip the person who let you sell, 10% seems to be about normal.)

Because of this forum and other sites online where people help others sell for good prices, it's really easy to make a profit by selling turnips.

This is me selling a single inventory full of turnips:

Now imagine selling an entire locker full.

Turnips are totally worth it~

Its worth it. I buy one C full storage of turnips (600k worth) every week, then sell them for a high turnip price and get 4 million back. It's definitely worth it!

The money is definitely worth it, but for me the running back and forth from locker to re-tail got a bit annoying after a while.

It depends if you're willing to hunt around for turnip prices every day and that you have the money to invest you can get a big return if you sell somewhere with a high price. If you TT backwards they'll spoil though and same if you don't sell them within the week. Personally I would only get sn inventory full if you haven't done it before

It depends on how you play. If you TT back a lot, don't buy them, since they'll spoil unless you sell them first (and if you have five minutes before you've decided to TT, you'll probably have to settle for lower prices). If you don't TT a lot, then they're worth it, especially if you have some patience.

The trick with them is to make sure they're selling for more than the price you bought them for. It's as simple as that, really. When you talk to the turnip lady, she'll give you a price (for the dozen, I think) and when you talk to Reese, ask her about prices. Prices change twice a day, in the morning and then again in the afternoon, so make sure to check.

So if you bought your turnips for 100 bells and they're selling for 20, that's a bad deal, because you're losing money. On the other hand, if they're selling for more than 100 bells, you're making a profit. The ideal is finding a high enough margin of profit. If you're not good at maths, you can always use a calculator, just subtract the price you paid for your turnips from the money you'd be getting from selling them.

Places like this forum (or places like tumblr, but I think this forum is best since it's easier to navigate and there's a rating system) are helpful since you can find towns where turnips are being sold for a good price if you're having bad luck with turnip prices in your own.

Some people fill lockers lol

Also, just lookout for a turnip spike on AC websites, there's a couple every week usually.

This is exactly how I made my first 100m within the first month of playing the game. Selling a locker full of turnips in my town was about 12m and, if I'm remembering correctly, only took about 20 minutes (took longer to actually buy them, of course). Tedious, but hey - now I don't care about bells, and probably won't be caring for a while.

Edit: oh time traveling is a good point. I opened my town to turnip-sellers, and some of them would buy turnips only after I created a thread advertising my turnip prices. I don't think I could buy turnips unless I actually had a seller (or a good price in my own Retail) willing to let me sell, since I time travel often.

It's definitely worth it. My first 10million in bells all came from turnips. Though if you TT I wouldn't risk it. Time traveling forward is no big (unless you pass sunday) but Time travel backwards even one minute will spoil wasting all your money that you put into them and there is no way to get that back.

Usually if turnips are anything ABOVE 100 bells I pass.

It usually takes 25 minutes to buy and about the same to sell. It's like 2.5mil or so to fill a whole locker and inventory. So, if the price is 600+, a profit of 8 or 9mil for an hour's work.

If you have a high price in your own town, you can also make a lot from people tipping when they come to sell. Or you can strike a deal with a TTer: you let them into your town to sell and they let you into their town to buy. After a couple of rounds, everyone's happy. : D

I personally don't use it, since I run a shop that require rapid back and forth TTing. That'd just spoil the turnips right there.

I have used it a few times, like when I would sell same day. The buyback can be enormous, and I would say it's worth it. Waiting for a good price, in my opinion, isn't a good idea, so I'd just lurk on ACNL Online on Sundays only.

Oh god... totes waste of money. The stalk market is the worst experience on acnl... If you have terrible turnip prices that is. lmao

But yeah. The payout is indeed worth it.

Definitely.
I always buy a full lockerful for 1.7-ish million Bells and sell them for around 10-12 million Bells back.
I made my 100 million Bells through this XD
Just buy them from Joan (price can vary from 90-110 Bells each) and check your Retail, once in the morning and once in the afternoon (unless you have school in which you would not be able to check TT^TT) or check here for high turnip prices

It depends on if you have the patience to stalk the forums for a good price all week. Buy as many as you can afford and just make sure you don't time travel. Anything 500+ is really good for selling turnips. Also check how much Joan is selling them for. I typically won't buy if they are over 100 but that's just me.
