Is my Super Smash Brawl stupid?

I don't know why this is happening.
But I am battling Snake at Spear Pillar (I am Lucas). But whenever I get a hammer and I use it. When ever it hits snake it makes a whistling noise like it's one of those rubber inflatable hammers?
Help?

You don't know about the Smash Bros. DOJO!!? Man, you missed out on some great times. I remember those days where the first thing that I'd do when I'd wake up is start up my Wii, go to the Internet Channel, and check to see what the new update was on the DOJO!!... "Is it a new character? A new stage? A new item? Is Sonic finally confirmed?! What could it be today?!" Ah, good times...

The rubber squeaky hammer is a random dud Golden Hammer that you'll get every now and then when you pick up a Golden Hammer.

Dojo is a site that is the official information source of Super Smash Bros Brawl, and released information on the game before the game actually came out.
