Is my friendship with marshal strong then?

I constantly send him letters and about 2 times a day he gives me items without asking for money. He answers back to my letters usually with a gift attached saying how good friends me and him are? I haven't got suggestions to change his catchphrase yet since he moved in about 4 days ago but is the friendship quite good between me and him? I've heard that they tend to ask to leave when the relationship is high and he's done that 1 time.

I lost Diana doing that. It wasn't like I didn't bother knowing she was going to leave, I talked to her and all my villagers before going to the next day and she was in boxes. Terrible, terrible indeed xD

aha well im like his fangirl and i dont leave him alone 1 second i doubt he will actually move without telling me i haven't got any other good villagers apart from flip.

Well just talk to him and if he asks for like a piece of any fruit or any furniture/bug/fish, give him the refurbished furnitures, rarer bugs/fish and if it's fruit, give him a foreign perfect fruit. Before you talk to him and give him the item, save your game.
That way, if he gives you a gift in return, and it's not his pic (if that's what you were aiming for) then quit, reload and try again.

If he sits on a PWP project, sit next to him and if he looks at you and smiles, that's an indication that your friendship is pretty good!

I recall getting marina once.. but maybe that was just me. I'd love to have them because then I can play hide and seek with them if they happen to all play xD

Whitney was looking around confused when I megaphoned her, and then I gave her something she wanted, and she instantly did the wave with a singing sound thing. Skye, on the other hand, still only bows and she has already given me her picture and sent me a chocolate heart. I think it's like every other part of the game: the normals and lazies bow, the rest wave. Either they do that or they look around confused.

I always do those dr shrunk things with marshal and he always does them with me. Maybe thats part of it if not the megaphone trick?

i think that's because all normals and lazies bow instead of wave? i could definitely be wrong, though. it's just a trick i use. in regards to the shrunk thing, all villagers/npcs in general will respond to/mirror (most) of shrunk's emotions, regardless of friendship level
