I have a problem. I have Felicity in my town, and I want her to leave. She is not leaving.

I think she might not be leaving because she was the tenth villager to move in, and I?ve heard some people say that the tenth villager can?t leave until one of the other nine moves away.

But I?ve heard other people say that the tenth villager can leave, but it?s rare.

So my question is, is it true that the tenth villager can?t leave until someone else moves? Will I have to get rid of one of my nine dreamies to get rid of Felicity, or is that not necessary?

No, is not true. In my experience anyone from your 10 villagers can leave at any given moment, but is random. So good luck. In my experience there are villagers who will want to leave more than others, like I said, random.

If she was the latest villager to move, I'm nearly 100% certain she won't move out before another villager moves first. I have never managed to move out my newest villager without moving out another one before them.

Yes, it's true. Villagers have the same odds of pinging you to move out except your 10th. I think you can get the 10th villager to ping (at least some people have reported it) but it's rare.

Well I've heard that it is possible for the 10th villager to ask to move -I'm afraid I don't usually take much notice which villager (position wise) is asking to move in my towns, so I can't verify it. I've never let any villager move (as yet).

However in a new town I had started up, where the villagers were initially moving in, I did have the last move in who was the 9th villager - ask to leave - surprised but it happened. (I said no to her leaving, & likely given I'd had little time to become friends with her, if I had told her to leave, she may have well decided to stay). It was a busy time as she asked on the same day I had a camper who I was asking to move in as the 10th villager.

I think its possible for you to get Felictiy to move - if you have already talked to her and started to build a friendship, then continue to do that, and hope she asks to leave. But as said, who gets picked to be the mover is random so it could easily be another to ask to move before her.
I think I've read if you never talk to the villager (Or maybe just once?) then that also will get that villager to move faster - but I've no experience & in reality I think who is picked is random. Frustrating.

In my experience it takes another villager to ask first before the 10th villager can ask to move. Even though I believe it's true.

It is true that other villagers will ask before, but your 10th villager can ask you as well, I had felicity as my 10th villager for a while, and she asked me after some others villagers did.

It's true, sorry :c

Some people say it's not true, but I've never seen any proof so I'm skeptical. I think in those cases the people just forgot who their tenth move-in actually was so they think their tenth moves out.

If it honestly was random, it would not be this difficult to move the tenth out, it would be just like moving any villager out. Unfortunately it's not.

Good luck!

Some villagers try to move more than others, IT IS RANDOM, I remember Kyle told me he wanted to move one day, next day whitney, and 2 days after she told me, Kyle did it again. It is complete random, some will ask you more than others, but it has anything to do with the order you got them, or if they are happy or sad or whatever. Oh and I wanted Victoria to leave, one of my starters and I had her for quite a while and she had told me she wanted to move just one time by the time kyle, one of my newest villagers, had told me he wanted to move like 2 times. It took a long time before I could get rid of her, and she was one of my oldest villagers. Like I said, some are harder than others, but it is RANDOM.

If you time travel cheat it's not true, if you play legitimately everyday, sorry, you'll never lose that 10th until someone else moves.

Regardless of how you feel about TTing, TTing to get a villager out just speeds up the pings. It doesn't change how likely they are to happen. Meaning that if the 10th villager can't ping to move at all, it won't be more likely to just because you're TTing. If the 10th villager can ping to move, it can happen in normal time as much as TTing (it may just take longer to get there).

I've been playing for 3 years and have 4 real towns. The 10th villager has never asked to move.
Sydney started living in my main town on Sept, 2013. She's still there.

I've got over 2000 hours of ACNL with multiple copies and I have yet to ever experience the 10th villager want to move out and I TT a ton.

It's random for literally every other villager except the 10th one. In your example you never mentioned a 10th one moving out so I don't really get why you used that example in the first place?

The majority of you seem to be saying that is (unfortunately) true, and some people who say it?s true seem to have a lot of experience with the game. So it must be true. :(

I think the other villager I?ll move out will be Blaire. Out of all my favorites, she?s the best one to leave because of her house placement. It?s so close to the cliff that I can?t have a two pattern wide path without that annoying space in front of the door where I can?t place a pattern. (I?m a perfectionist, so it really bothers me!)

But on the bright side, getting rid of Blaire will fix the path. It will also give me the chance to experience a new snooty villager.

Thanks to all of you for the help. :)

I still have my doubts as to whether the 10th cannot move before another moves, even tho players stating this have a long experience of the game.
I'm sure other villagers can ask to move before the 10th, and if they are asked to stay, I can't see why the 10th villager will never be asked to move at some point in time. I get that it could take a long time.
My doubt is fuelled by my own experience, as I said in my previous post on this thread, a new town I was building up, 9th villager Sylvia, last in (I hadn't yet got a 10th) asked to move.
