Is it just me or...

Lol, I've seen those too. I would never spend my money on such, I mean who even wastes their money on virtual furniture..? There are people around the world who can help you in case you can't get some special items and if nobody isn't willing to, it can't be helped. I've seen shiny pokemon on ebay as well. Even I was totally obsessed with shiny hunting a while ago, I never even considered to seriously buy some virtual thingy that I can get myself with my own money.

I don't see anything wrong with it, but I don't exactly smile upon it either. Think of it this way. If you had a job, why waste more time trying to get what you want when you already have the money that you worked for? Some people think like this and would rather pay real money for virtual items. Oh and yeah sure, that ruins the "fun" of the game? Not to these people. These people have goals and wish to meet them.

people are dumb as hell

but i guess i cant say much, since i buy mounts from the wow cash shop. but to be fair, its not like i could GET those mounts ingame. the only way is to pay 25$. :P wow has a subscription, so many people frown upon its cash shop. i personally dont care since its just mounts and pets (and more recently transmog helms)

but, for something like AC where EVERYTHING IS FREE REGARDLESS, its mindblowingly stupid. if you dont know how to get sets, research them instead of paying money?? is it that hard to research and maybe stumble across this forum like i did? no. its not. :/ but as reindeer said people see it easier to shell out cash than to spend 5 seconds on google lel

I personally think it's a little ridiculous when it can be so easy to earn bells in game...
I mean, to each their own. If those people that choose to opt for it can afford it, more power to them.

For $40 they could buy another copy and TT to get the items. lollll

OMFG its true lmfao
though i would assume some sets theyre buying are like, perhaps other countries dlc and **** so technically not in that case. but even so. xD

THIS~ most of the sets on the listings I saw were gracie sets since the seller is in the US tho so it's definitely kind of dumb

oh, god. -facepalms- well i probably lost a few braincells just with that knowledge.

alright, ill play the 'be fair' game.
so, if blizzard put up a mount that was insanely difficult to get in game for real money, BUT STILL ACHIEVABLE, perhaps only by hardcore raiders -- would i buy it? (depends on the mount and price, but say it was maybe a really attractive mount for say, 40, like these listings)
so, in that case, yes.
does that make me just as bad as these people buying the sets on ebay? its hard to tell, because im comparing either TTing or waiting to being in a small elite group of people which most cannot do. but am i just as needy and dumb if i buy that mount? mmmm, probably. IDK im just trying to look at it from both perspectives D:

Or they could've signed up to this forum for free and bought it with TBT bells. No matter how you look at it, they're dumb.

I believe this is actually against those terms and conditions that really need to be shortened, they take too long to read. I'm amazed these people haven't been charged

Someone of ACC said:
While it's not illegal and some game companies do allow you to sell in game products for real money, Nintendo is not one of them. Nintendo has several policies to protect their licenses and even though this might not be written in their fine print, that doesn't mean that they wouldn't slap you with a cease and desist if they caught wind of your actions. They've done it to people with lesser offenses where they weren't really trying to make money at all.

And it's against EBAY's policies to sell virtual items for any game except Second Life, something they don't consider a game.

And as Neighbor said, it's probably against site rules.

It's one of those things where just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

People can do whatever they want, it's their money so I don't really care that much. :P I'd never do something that's that stupid, though. You can buy full sets and bells here for fake currency. I'm guessing these people don't know of TBT, but you'd think they'd research a bit before blowing their real money on virtual items/bells.

I wasn't even thinking in terms of if it was illegal or not but thanks for the input. I'm now surprised as well! Since it seems that one user who keeps selling them for upwards of $30 has been doing it for a while with some success.

It's not even that difficult to find this site on google D: maybe the people deserve their stupidity

If you google "selling animal crossing princess set" it's on the first page.
This makes me wonder how to guy even has money in the first place.

basically! I think I found the site searching for the rococo set and it was one of the first results

tbh it's just mind boggling to think about, just like people selling shiny pokemon on ebay too

oh wow, thats a bit pricey for furniture sets; especially because itS A PIXEL GAME. i love acnl to pieces but thats a bit over the top

I'll be completely honest -- while some people are just dumb, I feel that some new Animal Crossing players may not know that there is an economy for the game, and rely only on the real-time events, stores, luck, etc. to get items in their games, and pay actual money for it. While I hadn't payed any real money for any items, I had no idea that any economy for Animal Crossing had ever existed at all until around two weeks ago, and I've been playing since Population Growing. I feel like we need to help players become more aware of communities like this, even though I'm not sure how that's possible...
