Is it dumb to give my mayor the same name?

I'm almost done collecting all my villagers after losing two to corruption (and aside from one or two being held by friends) and I'm ready to get my town started yet again. The other dumb thing is I wasn't really thinking and gave my mayor the name I was going to use for this new town. I know it's a little petty detail that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but you know how villagers mention former mayors and stuff ("Hey, Marzipan! I remember Marzipan! She was a horrible mayor who cried a lot and has no friends in real life. I wonder how Marzipan is doing now. Oh well, thanks for stopping by, Marzipan."), and I don't know if it's dumb to use the same name as before. I wanted to go by Marzipan (Marzy) since I use it on here and several other places; I used it because I thought I was going to keep that town.

This doesn't even matter. I'm just rambling for one reason or another.
I wish my game hadn't corrupted earlier today; I've never had that happen before.
I know she's not a big deal villager, but I really loved Agnes... And I had just picked up Rasher from FB. He was gonna be a part of my shared town (Gotham) with my boyfriend.
Not to mention I lost starting villagers that were dreamies of users on here and I feel awful. I can't believe I dropped my game.
