My island is pretty much done, I decorated the CRAP out of it. I'm kinda tired of it already, and I want a new theme. theres so many city themed islands like mine.

No, it’s not bad! If it doesn’t make you happy, it’s better to restart. The game is supposed to bring you joy :)

That’s interesting. I haven’t seen many city themed islands. Do you mean a new island or tear everything down?

Nope! If you feel that your current island is done and you're unhappy with it, then getting a fresh start could be great 🙂

new island, I could tear it down but that takes forever. plus it takes tons of bells

not at all! i've seen a lot of people restart their island and ended up more happy with whatever they came up with the second...or even third time around. i feel like you'd know what you want/is doing better now that you've gotten a feel more of the game compared to whenever you first initially started.

It is perfectly valid to reset, especially since you have a better idea of what you would like for your town now! I'm probably going to restart because my vision for my town has drastically changed from what I wanted back in March. It will suck to get everything again, but tbh, I'd rather play the game over than do an entire teardown of my town and THEN rebuild it.

I pretty much always restart my game at some point. Even now, I'm thinking of this as my "first" island. Some people say they'll regret losing all the effort they put in... but you don't really lose anything. You spent that time "practicing", basically, getting to know the game and how to make your next island even BETTER. Plus, you had fun, right? So that's not a waste at all! If you're thinking of resetting and can't think of a reason not to, than I'd do it.

Personally, though, this is the one game I haven't really gotten a huge desire to reset. It crosses my mind occasionally, but doesn't become a nagging thought like it did in previous games. My island is super well decorated... BUT I've started to think of it as dynamic. Meaning that, it can always be improved. For instance, if I get a new villager, I may need to pick a new spot for their house. And just last night I had an idea for totally rearranging things- moving my market area closer to the airport (now that I'm actually trading) and moving my main neighborhood near the orchard, so basically switching their spots. Then I may expand that neighborhood and clear out some beach space, to make my market really nice, while also giving my beach character a better yard.

...So, yah, I've found a lot of stuff to keep me busy this time around. But, if you can't think of anything else to work on with your island, there's never any shame in resetting!

You can always sort of keep the layout and redesign it to fit a better theme. I’ve been doing this around my island and it’s soo much better.

definitely not bad at all ! I've restarted my island so many times just bc i'm always not satisfied lol if your gut is telling you to restart then go ahead & do it!

I really would if it weren't for bob being in a starter house...
