Is collecting villager's pictures a worth while thing?

I started a new town with plans to collect their picture and then cycle, putting them in a separate house to be a museum of sorts, but it's taking so long to get their pictures legitimately; it's been almost a month now. Does anyone else relate to this? I know some other people like to collect the pictures as well. I'm sorta losing motivation since a new animal crossing game is probably going to come out soon too...

I like collecting them! it gives an incentive to talking to them and sending letters (they really like getting mail) and also I like having a pic of at least everyone in my town in case someone moves suddenly.

But it does take a while to get, just keep at it The best tips I've come across is try to give them perfect fruit, give them at least decently rare fish/bugs when they ask for them and also the petition and lost item requests weigh a bit more I think..

Also could just be random LOL I've had Cousteau in my town for months and I still haven't gotten his pic but I've already gotten 2 from another animal that moved in like a month ago

My experience with getting their pictures was the first one was super hard! But then it's like that one opened the flood gate and now they won't stop giving them to me.

However, you can obtain them from Aprils Fools Day and if you're friendship level is high enough when they move that will be their parting gift.

Well there’s no new AC game coming for release so seems like you can work for those villagers pics haha. It definitely feels random because you can be so close with a villager & have them in your town for a long time & still don’t get it ):

I get most of mine on April Fools Day :B Which obviously you would only get once a year unless you TT, but I don't think I had ever gotten a picture from anyone until April Fools, which as tiffanistarr mentioned, seemed to open the doors to them giving me their pics. I gotta say though, I have only ever had them give it to me in person, and usually, it's the same villager ;-; I think I've had like 4-5 Bluebear pictures from April Fools and her giving me a couple xD But yeah, collecting their pictures is an accomplishment in my eyes and eye candy when I see them in other people's houses ^-^

other than Gruff and Tutu moving the first one I earned by doing a request for was Bones and I was so happy about that because he's my favorite villager but now he won't stop giving me his picture lol but i gladly take them from my villagers because it's their only way to show appreciation i guess lol they're pretty self centered that way huh?

Yes! I love reading the quotes as well! Especially since I can always see their personality coming through Lol I found only recently in the past year or two (out of my 5 years in my town) did my villagers start giving me pictures >n> Lol not sure what that was about because I've had high friendships with my villagers well before that.. lol ;-;

To answer your question of if it's worthwhile collecting, it's up to you. It's fun to have friendships and bonds between you and your villagers, but you can always buy/sell/trade pictures on here. I'm sure you can find what you're looking for rather easily on here

Well, if you like them and do things for them it just happens. I have multiple pictures from my Butch and Kiki.
