Is anyone knowledgeable on the mechanics of star frags?

I had visited someone's island to wish on shooting stars sometime last week.

I TTd back to April to get the DIYS I missed and TTd back to current time, but still no fragments on the beach??
Did that mess it up somehow?

I have been cleaning up my beaches to make more room for them to spawn, if that's an issue too.

Well the fragments only appear the day after you make wishes, AND, if you TT backwards before going to the next day, I believe you receive nothing

I wished on a couple stars a few days ago, went back a couple days before going forward, and never foundthose fragments, even after going forward weeks ingame!

Yeah, going backwards is the only thing I can think of that would make them not appear. Thank you!
