Is anyone else worried that the cards will be abused by villager cyclers. They could have all tier 1 cards and just cycle those guys around and make alot of forums bells. And then after that they'll break the villager trade since almost everyone can get their hands on Marshal/Julian/whoever and there will be alot less business on that page.

Just theorizing but, still. I'm a tad worried about people abusing this new function

The villager trading plaza is dying anyway and since a handful of people collect cards they are not going to be using vtp anymore so there will be less business anyway. I feel like not many new people are joining the site and people have finally got the dreamies they need. Ok I just started to babble there I hope it's kinda relevant xD

I only need the villager cycle for my second town, but I've already found my final dreamie. The villager trading thread won't be abused probably, people can buy their own amiibo cards to use. If they do abuse it, then.. uh.. maybe the amiibo cards will be part of the 16 villager cycle.

That's actually an interesting tactic! I think it depends on how many people collect the cards. Cause if people collect the cards, they won't need to buy villagers.

I'm not really concerned because I have my dreamies anyway and they're usually voided so trying to find them was annoying already. Just think how hard it will be to find tier 5 villagers after the update if your theory becomes reality. For awhile I noticed that most of the cycling threads automatically voided tier 5 villagers and would only announce tier 1 villagers. So most of the time you didn't know who they had except for the popular villagers.

I'm a bit uneasy on this topic too. I know the villager trading plaza is slowly dying down, but it'd be a shame. I can't even buy the amiibo cards in my area!
We'll see what happens, I guess. Tier 5s might even become more hard to come by.

I'm hoping not cause I personally don't have lot of bells. I also won't be buying the cards, so I need the vtp. I plan on getting a second cartridge around Christmas or sooner. So I really hope no one does this.

That's what I thought. everyone just buys tier 1 cards, scans them in, and they have all tier 1 villagers. you don't have to search endlessly for tier 1's anymore. It was fun while it lasted, but I hope it lasts longer than I anticipate.

Wait, I thought you were only able to use the Amiibo Cards once?

Probably once within the 16-villager cycle.

One question though. Is it possibe to have a town of all animals of one personality once the update comes out? I know it's possible to have a town of only squirrels and a town of only dogs (since both species have all eight personalities), but with the amiibo update, is it possible now?

I am very sad to see the trading threads slowing down. I absolutely LOVE coming here to get almost impossibly hard-to-find tier four and five dreamies. It becomes more and more difficult all the time. My hope is that with the advent of incorporating amiibo cards into ACNL, the trading thread will have MORE access to the lower tier villagers, thus making it easier for people who love them to adopt them. I buy cards but are still many, many villagers I want whose cards I still have yet to be fortunate enough to find.

There should still be players wanting to adopt villager thru the trading board with TBT points. TBT points are free and the cards can cost a lot if you buy them on Ebay or try buying packs of card to find your favorite. Some have paid $10 for one squirrel card. If the amiibo card is a one time use they would have to buy another card. That's too much money when you can get one here using points or bells.

I think amiibo cards would eliminate the need to cycle altogether. I would just buy and trade cards until I got the exact Villager I wanted after a current one moves out. I do wonder if the amount of Villagers will be adjusted after the Amiibo Card update, as they are adding another campsite.

We still at least have the Re-Tail and Train Station Boards. They aren't gonna crash anytime soon. But yeah, a larger market is gonna face trouble.

I actually don't care too much about the villagers. I'm more for the items or the PWPs than the villagers. But I know that people like the villagers more.

They won't make more bells. On the contrary, prices will drop. Think it like that, a lot of people will have amibo cards and obtaining&selling villagers using these cards would be much easier than cycling for them. Which means in a short time there will be five sellers per one buyer. Rarity of the villagers will decrease, so will prices. It's economics 101. Basic law of supply and demand.

No I don't think it will be the end of it. Will it slow down yes but not everyone will be buying cards. Also I'f you can only use them once then the plaza may in fact pickup. I say let's not be so negative before we even know fully what is going to happen.

Tier 5s might even become more hard to come by.

I kind of disagree. I bought a few amiibo packets for fun and I got a few tier 5s (the one off the top of my head is Deli) so they are there. I feel like you could ask someone for a tier 5 EASIER.

Honestly no. I don't really care if they do tbh. And people will be able to find Marshal/Julian/whoever easier due to cards imo. With the update I don't feel like many will mess with the VTP, and if they do it'll be for the new characters I feel like.
