Hey everyone,

I finally got a 2DS after years with the sole purpose of playing Animal Crossing NL. I know I'm sooo late but it's the only type of game that fits with my schedule and so far I'm loving it. I'm still figuring out all of the mechanics, but I just paid off my down payment! Really excited that there's such a great community around the game and I'm hoping to see some other towns for inspiration.

My only question is, how is the multiplayer/online experience with NL now? Will Nintendo continue supporting the 3DS, seems like things are starting to get phased out because of the switch (which I also have, definitely getting New Horizons when it comes out). Is now a bad time to be investing time into the game?

Random tidbit, I always leave my villager at the edge of the main street on the overlook bench before I power down the system. Idk why, but it just puts me at ease knowing that he has a nice view and isn't just standing in the middle of the town the whole time I'm sleeping.

Glad to be a part of the community!!

Hi! Welcome! I don’t know how to answer your questions about nh but I hope it doesn’t affect nl. At least not too bad right away that is. I’m hoping the forums here though still have people that want to play new leaf. Fingers crossed!

P.S. I always save in a nice spot for my character

Welcome to The Bell Tree! I hope you enjoy it here. As for your question about ACNL online, it will definitely start to be phased out when New Horizons is released. They'll probably still have 3DS online servers for quite a while afterwards, but a lot of people would have switched over to the new game. That being said, I don't think New Leaf is a waste of time. Though I'm the person who still plays the original Gamecube release, so I don't know what your priorities are. In fact, it's a lot cheaper right now to get Bells and items from other players if you're okay with doing that, since people value them a lot less now.
