Internet pet-peeves

You do realize that some people may dislike selfies for other reasons than envy or bad self esteem? I personally really hate being in pictures and don't see the point of it, therefore I find selfies obnoxious.

Selfies are also easily associated with being attention seeking and even somewhat materialistic. Like the stereotypical selfie has a female with a duckface fishing for compliments. It makes sense for people to associate selfies negatively if that's the first thing that comes into their mind.

LOL what the ****?
i mean, sure we all ave that one friend who posts a bit too many selfies on facebook, but god damn you're petty if you honestly think people who are comfortable in their skin and are alright with expressing themselves and showing their face is just blatant attention seeking. and even if it was, who ****ing cares. if you don't want to show your toad face that's cool, but just because someone else wants too doesn't mean they should be belittled or degraded because "wow your facial expression isn't to my liking, better bash you about it." seriously go outside, read a book, stop being a twit.

they like it. that's the entire point.
if you don't like, don't ****ing comment on it. keep scrolling down, kiddo. :^)

And yes people want attention, but imo selfies are a bit too blatant when it comes to attention seeking. There are people who take pictures of their cleavage for an example to get male comments on said cleavage just for fun. They have all the right to do that, but I don't get the point of it and find it really blatantly attention seeking. It's totally okay to be proud of your body too, but I personally think selfies are just a bit too blatant for that. Which again has to do with the fact that I'm not the kind of person to show off like that, therefore I don't understand the appeal in it.

i mean, you sound like a real ass, man.

i don't see how being comfortable in your own body is really a reason to be upset at someone taking a damn picture of themselves.especially when your reasoning behind it is, "well they're gonna use it to take photos of their cleavage for attention."
okay so? they're okay with expressing their body. it's not their fault you sexualize breasts, they're honestly just there to feed babies. i don't know why you're so upset about people being okay with showing their bodies and their face. just because they have the confidence for it, and you seem to not.

"BE PROUD OF YOUR BODY BUT DONT TAKE PHOTOS BC THATS TOO ATTENTION SEEKING"

okay buddy.

Did you read what I said?? I said that I dislike selfies because I associate them with negative things and don't like them on a personal level either. Do keep in mind that this is a personal dislike though and I don't go around hating on selfies in any way shape or form, I just personally dislike the whole idea of people taking selfies.

But anyway whats with your salty attitude about this? You've been pretty saltily dissing anyone who dislikes selfies.. It's just an opinion. And again I don't go around ****ting on peoples selfies and most people probably don't either.

What negative things then? I'd like to know. And if you're not one of those people going around dissing selfies then I'm probably not talking about you.

Who cares if someone just wants male attention (or any attention) though? That's the part I don't understand. People hate things for "attention seeking" but like... who cares? How does it affect you? This is a general statement btw not necessarily just directed at you yourself. Plus maybe some ****'s gone down in their lives and they want some positive comments, again, who cares.

There's that word again anyways I just hate when people hate on people who are proud of themselves or getting attention when it literally negatively affects anyone in a grand total of 0 ways, just let people love themselves, especially if they hated themselves for so long.

Well, interesting debate I guess? But yeah I guess there are differences between taking one 'normal' selfie to put up or use as avatar picture and those people take for just making duck faces and look slutty. The latter are always annoying.

I don't comment on selfies though? I don't generally use social media with selfies. But my point was that I dislike it because i associate it with negative things and don't personally get it, that doesn't mean that I hate everyone who takes selfies or think I'm any better than them.
My point with the association had to do with the fact that people associate things with different things leading to different people having different opinions. Someone might find bossiness a good trait because they connect it to good leadership, some may find it negative cuz they connect it to rudeness.

You guys are really overreacting to an opinion that really doesn't affect you. I'm 100% fine with people taking selfies, they are allowed to do it. I just personally don't find it a positive thing and therefore won't do it myself.

Also what the hell is up with you instantly assuming I have low self esteem or am ugly just because I don't like selfies in general?

Also I am not saying I sexualize breasts, I don't. As you said they're there to feed babies. But a lot of people do sexualize them.

IT IS OKAY TO TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR BODY BUT I PERSONALLY FIND THEM KIND OF ANNOYING WHEN THEY GO TOO FAR BECAUSE ATTENTION SEEKING IN GENERAL ANNOYS ME. HOWEVER THAT DOESNT MEAN I LOOK DOWN ON PEOPLE FOR IT OR THINK THEY SHOULD STOP CUZ THEY HAVE ALL THE RIGHT TO DO WHAT THEY WANT AND MY OPINION SHOULD NOT AFFECT THEIR ACTIONS.

Cuz you guys are kind of judging me hard for something that's just an opinion? You've also kind of misunderstood what I've said and made assumptions based on it, which I wanted to clear up.

I also have a bad habit of getting into arguements even if I can't win them.

But I'm calm? You're the one being incredibly salty here, throwing salt in each one of your comments.
Either way I'm out. Sorry for spamming the thread for a bit. Have a good day yall.

Hold on so you cry about me "judging you and making assumptions" and then assume that I'm "incredibly salty" lmao okay bye <3

@dinomates, good argument!!, here, have all my cookies! ;}

I don't understand why people have to be so aggressive.

On the Internet, you have thousands of people you can talk to and interact with, and rather than joining with each other and discussing things peacefully, people would rather argue and cause drama. It confuses me because you would think on platforms like this there would be no need for prejudice or hatred. We are all together here and we should rejoice in each other's company, not spread hatred and aggression.

My eyes rolled so far back I saw the next dimension

Good, please share some of those drugs.

On a more serious note yes those attention-seeking asses of any sex/gender are annoying asf. Like look how much crap I actually have in my face at the moment!!11shift

I hate how mean people are on the internet. A lot of people use internet anomaly as an excuse to be as nasty as possible, which I don't get. Why do you want to be that kind of person? And what really ticks me off is when I see old folks who should know better picking on kids and just being all around unpleasant.

when people use XD or c: or derp or the n word or racism or argue on purpose

Musical.ly...
Everyone thinks they're so good at singing using musical.ly, but in reality, they're just lip syncing to dumb songs.
