Anyone use them? I do. They're safer and more durable than those CFL. I started typing in CFL light bulb in my google search engine, and the second thing that came up was CFl light bulb fires. They're also known for the chemical in them that can be dangerous when released, which happens sometimes.

Honestly, I don't see the problem. If I don't want to be "energy efficient" with my light bulbs, it's my choice, dammit.

I have the swirly lightbulbs in my room, and the circly kind everywhere else in the house.

Lol so scientific sounding, right?

so stock up on your olde-tyme bulbs, while you can buy them.

unless they're going to explod like the fake-ass ps3 controllers, i don't see the problem.

but eh. light is light. candles are pretty cool guys, tehy start fires and don't afriad of anything.

They contain Mercury and when broken can release into the air. And if your a *censored.1.2* you'll clean the mess by vacuuming causing the mercury to spread in the room.

thermometers used mercury for years.. :/
gas mercury or something, or the same liquid kind?

step dad has told me about playing with it in his hands, or some crap like that.
lol @ decades-old safety precautions.

The ones that are being banned are the bulbed ones. Not the swirls.
That's good. The "swirly ones" are better for the environment anyway. I have those in my room. :3

"Like all fluorescent lamps, CFLs contain mercury, which complicates their disposal."

So they do contain mercury. And it's a gas, not a liquid. I thought I originally typed that?

so they asplode, and leak out mercury which we breath and makes us the die?

It's about time. We've gone through too many administrations who couldn't care less about environmental issues.
