In need of serious decision help - Merengue

Hey gang, pretty new here and I seriously need people to bounce around my decision on.

I just had a villager move out. Today I was either going to grind a bunch and find Marshall or get him in a trade from the forums. on my 5 ticket I came across Merengue. Now she isn’t my first choice. But she is pretty cute and i do like her Aesthetic. I could always trade her at a later date as well.

I just don’t know if I take her or keep grinding or ask around here to get Marshall. I’m just kinda chilling on her island till I make a choice.

I'd say take Merengue-if you like her, you can keep her, and if you still find yourself pining for Marshal, later on she's a pretty fair 1:1 for him if you find the right person.

oof i've been in this position- i was hopping for deirdre the other day and ran across audie. i ended up taking audie bc i knew my chances of finding deirdre were slim anyway, and i could adopt audie out to someone in the future. i think it depends on what you're thinking your island will be like- for me, i'm planning for my villagers to move in and out (i don't have a set list of 10 final dreamies i want), so i was more chill w getting audie bc i knew that eventually she'd want to move out, and i could enjoy her company until then, and i could always search for deirdre or someone else in the future.

however, if you're trying to finalize a set of villagers, i think getting a villager you don't personally want (???) might delay things for you and make you annoyed potentially

this all being said, your chances of finding marshal on the islands is pretty low, and unless you have a lot more nmt for island hopping, i would rec getting merengue and either trading her for marshal or selling her for nmt that will help w buying marshal from someone

This! There's no way to tell if you'll even find Marshal by island hopping in the first place, chances are pretty slim. Merengue is a cutie and you can always trade or sell her later^^

I have no set villagers. And I currently only have Two Villagers that I plan on keeping around (Moe and Lobo)

Don’t really have an idea of who I want and don’t want besides that.

It really depends how many tickets you have left.

Yeah, currently have 7 villagers who are more than welcome to leave my Island. either way I want him on my island at some point.

I wasn’t really hunting for him as I already had a squirrel I loved but I went through 220 tickets before finding him. Obviously it’s totally random but finding one specific villager out of 400 on the NMT is so tough. Best of luck!
