Hey so after seeing the fire emblem 3dsxl announced for Europe, I assumer it would be coming to Australia as well. However this isnt the case.
After doing some research I have decided it would be a fine option to just buy one from amazon UK.
The UK and Australian systems fall under the same region meaning I can still play the Australian games I already have, but are there any other differences I should expect from importing a European console?
Umm; the charging cables will have different shaped prongs (i think?) I don't know what Europe's looks like but I assume they're different; so just use your regular 3DS cable.
Wait; I'm pretty sure the European one doesn't come with a charging cable so just use your regular one.
On top of this I've also heard accounts of some chargers being designed for that regions 3DS and they're too powerful and bust it when used on another region 3DS or something (it doesn't ruin your 3DS it just ruins it charging from that cable) - anyway if that happens just buy a USB charger.
Idk if that's true though it's just what I've heard.
If you use your current region official recharger on your import 3DS, then you should be fine.
For example, I'm using my North American recharger (which was included with 3DS XL) to charge up my Japanese 3DS, and it works perfectly. If I were in Japan, I'm better off using the recharger that was included with my Japanese 3DS.
Good point, does anyone know if I could charge the Europe XL with an Australian charger?
Edit: Thanks JC, hopefully it won't mess up my system. I assume the charger would take the same amount of power and the plug would just adapt to whatever the current(?) used in the country is???
Every single 3DS/3DS XL on every region where it's available share the same battery specifications. The chargers have different specs, just to adapt the type of power current that is the most used in your country. If you didn't owned a 3DS previously, then you might want to purchase an official recharger that is found in your country or closer.
