Nintendo has announced server that server maintenance will take place right now for the next hour and a half. I've looked in to the official details of the support site. Please note this before making any trades or adding friend codes.
All Online multiplayer for Wii U and 3DS have been shut down for maintenance from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. PST, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. EST.
Some network services are unavailable at this time
due to server maintenance.
Please wait until the maintenance is over.
