I'm officially on the I Hate Isabelle train now...

I just got the fairy tale bridge pwp, so I demolished my old suspension bridges that I'd had since the beginning of the game to replace them. The 3 spots I had my bridges in were perfect for how my town is laid out, but now none of those spots work because other pwps are too close. I hate that Isabelle will let you place pwps really close to bridges, but not bridges really close to pwps... Why can't it just work both ways?!?! Ugh I only have room for 2 bridges now, there's no possible way to get the one behind my cafe back, and I really don't feel like demolishing 2 wisteria trellises, and replacing them to put one of my bridges back where it was :T

Thanks for nothing Isabelle, you dirty buttface.

It's one really infuriating part of the game, placing public works. I can only fit two bridges in as well since like I you I swapped out my suspension bridges for the wooden ones quite late in the game.
I really hope they work on that in future animal crossings...we should have at least a little more free reign when it comes to building things in our own town

Yeah, you'd think you'd have more say than your assistant when it comes to how the town is run/constructed. There needs to be an option to fire Isabelle lol

Haha it winds me up when I ask what she thinks about this spot for a PWP and she says it's too close to the bridge/the residents house/the fence/the river and then starts going on over and over about how many spaces we need every which way. I get infuriated with her....might carry the hammer around with me next time as a deterrent
It's the same with villagers moving in and out though, we really need more control over our town as a whole. I know it's not supposed t be a life simulation or whatever but surely they could make things a bit easier....

Ugh! I feel your pain. I learned this lesson on my "starter" town that I had when the game first came out. When I made my permanent town a couple years ago, I knew I wanted fairy tale bridges, knew where I wanted them, and that I wanted my campsite on that little patch of land at the top left corner of my map (see below). Because I didn't think I could build a bridge there once my campsite was up, I played for about two months without one. As soon as Cookie suggested the fairy tale bridge, I built all three and then, FINALLY, built my campsite.

I hate that benches and street lamps can't be placed closer together like in the trailer video of ACNL (might be mistaken but memory recalls it showing them closer together than is actually possible).

She's always been a pain IMO. What really ticks me off is how she decides to shut you off from mayor related activity on special days. Who is she to decide anyway?

Happens to me lately too!! I finally got the wooden bridge pwp - demolish the bridge I want to replace - gonna build the bridge in the exact same spot with the previous one - BAM! "yooooo mayor.. we're trying to build the blah blah now so we need blah blah space and blah blah blah"

LOL but she's so cute! I do agree it's frustrating when you have a great idea on where to place your public works and find out it no longer is a viable spot. I had a perfect spot in my cycling town for a third bridge, I had been undecided on it for a while and would take Isabelle out to the location a handful of times to check if the location was okay and then canceled it. Two days ago I decided to finally lay down the bridge (got tired of walking to the closest bridge) and lo and behold, Isabelle says the spot is not a great spot because a villagers home was too close...the villager has been there for a week now...did she not see the house before or what? Lol.

The mayor should be able to place anything anywhere. I mean what is the point of being mayor if Isabelle tells you what to do? I hope you find another good spot to put your third bridge.

Isabelle is a monster! She did the same thing to me in Corvidae. I removed bridges to put new styles in and she would no longer allow me to plot in the SAME exact place. Now my town has poorly placed bridges that leave me very put out. One of the things that is the most frustrating feature of the game to be sure.

Ooh I feel your pain. I hate it when I try to place a pwp and then Isabelle goes, "I don't think there's enough space because of blah blah and I think that it should be somewhere else." Then I move a few steps up then she's like, "it's perfect! It'll look like this when it's finished!" And the pwp is closer to the said object then it ever was! That's so silly! If the Isabelle is going to place the pwp so close to something, why can't I do that? Every time I place a pwp I have to take a few deep breaths first. They should make it so that you are given the map and an icon so you could just place it on a map

I feel you. I also hate that every PWP has to have like a two-tile buffering zone or whatever you may call it so that they can't be too close, but what I hate the most is that they cannot overlap, making it sometimes like a four-tile buffering zone.
I mean, I am the mayor, not that dog, lol. If I want the fountain on my roof I'll build it there.

This! Haha! I get so annoyed with her telling me to take the day off...who is in charge here??
She has got way too much responsibility, thinks it's gone to her head.

I demolished a suspension bridge to replace it with a brick bridge in the same exact spot,
and Isabelle wouldn't let me build the replacement one there,
said it was too near to a resident's house!
But there was already a bridge there before Isabelle!!
It wasn't a problem before with placing the bridge there,
so WHY wouldn't you let me put it there!!

I feel you. Sometimes I want to build a PWP and then I only find out that Isabelle has to come in and say that it's not possible because it needs more "space" but it looks perfectly fitting. Thank you, Isabelle for unmotivating me and crushing my creativity.
