I've decided to dedicate tonight to finding and catching a tarantula and a scorpion (which I am terrified of in the game). Olivia has joined me it seems, she's wandering around with a net and has asked me to catch her a tarantula, which means I need two: One for the museum and one for her.

I've only caught a few of both last year. I don't think they're that scary, but the sound they make still freaks me out a little every time! I'd be absolutely terrified if I saw either of them in real life, though. When they're not behind glass, that is.

It's 100% the sound that terrifies me too! It freezes my blood hahahaha. XD
And I've never been stung in this game (only got it in march so this is my first search for the buggers), but the sound the sting made in WW made me feel sick.

I'm not actually afraid of tarantulas and scorpions in real life hahaha, there are plenty of scorpions here in Spain. They're not agressive though and if you do get stung at worse you have a fever. They're not the dangerous ones.

I don't think I've been stung by one in New Leaf yet. If I have, it was only once. I ran around trying to hit one with a hammer once and can't remember how that resulted.

I've caught multiple tarantulas, but only one scorpion. I think they are more or less equal rarity but I do always see less scorpions.

I've caught them both only once, just for the encyclopedia.. After that I'm just running away from them. Scorpion is fine, but tarantula is totally gross.. ;_; I'm soo scared to walk with net anymore, cause they might attack me just out of nowhere xD

Oh wow, I've been to spain a few times but I didn't know about that. I actually think they're both really cool looking but I wouldn't want to randomly encounter them..

I'm glad we don't have any dangerous insects where I live (as far as I know, at least). Mosquitos are probably the worst we have around here, haha.

I've found 2 scorpions and failed and got stung by both.. and I found one tarantula whilst trying to find another scorpion and got it first try. I continued looking for scorpions afterwards but I just lost interest. D:

OMG OMG no tarantula or scorpion yet but Chief suggested the police station, YEEES! I had been wanting it forever and trying so hard to do the diving trick to get it requested. So worth it.

The only bug I'm missing in my encyclopedia is a scorpion ;A; I'm terrified of them and can't seem to catch them, I always get stung.

Trap scorpions by the beach ramps. they cant jump, so you can catch them on the cliff while you are safe on the ramp

on the first day that i got new leaf i was playing at night, and a tarantula got me! I didn't have a single tool with me yet, and i've never seen one since!! i need to work on getting those guys too /__\;; good luck!

I just let them chase me, turn around and slam my net down. Works most of the time, idk
