Anyone else consistently getting fake art from Redd, regardless if they check online to verify if it's a forgery or not? I've cross-referenced online every time I go to Redd's boat, but lately I've only been getting fakes despite making sure they are "real" image-wise. The only thing that's different about the last few times I've bought art is that I had to time travel to go back to cover days I missed / the Bug-Off this weekend, so I'm not sure if that is a factor.

Yeah that's kind of just how it is with Redd, at least for me and many other people I know. While it would be funny if the game punished you for time travelling and heavily increased the rate of fake's, i'm pretty sure that's not something that's in the game. I'm not too bothered about getting fakes really, since I just use any statues I get to decorate my island, but I get that it could be really annoying if you're whole objective is to complete the museum, meaning fakes are pretty much useless. I have had all genuine works of art on a couple rare occasions I believe, and have had all fakes a lot aswell, but the usual rate for me seems to be 1 real and 3 fakes. That works fine for me though, since y'know, I can only buy one at a time anyway. If you're having trouble getting any real art and really want to complete the museum, i'd just check out some of the threads on nook's cranny here, since even a lot of the real ones go for insanely cheap now compared to when they were first released.
Yes exactly this! I wouldn't be upset except for the fact that they appear real but then Blathers tell me they're fake the next day! Super sucks since I want to complete the museum.
I agree, using the threads here can be a great way to get real artwork! I haven’t done it yet since I have so few art already in my museum as it is. I figure I’ll wait until Redd has visited more and maybe is trying to sell me the same real artwork as before.
Not sure really what the best method is for filling your museum. I don’t care much for using the art to decorate my island.

It definitely is! I've gotten multiple pieces from Dobie that were legit.
Anyway, TTing or anything doesn't make a difference. It's all about luck- it's entirely possible for all the art to be fake, or to have multiple real pieces. Also, even if the art is fake, it still may be worth buying- have you read about the haunted pieces? SO cool
It's so dark and hard to see, even when you select to take a closer look.
I take a pic with my phone and zoom in to make sure it's real. ^_^
You shouldn't be getting fake art if you verified they are real using sources. There is a 10% chance that Redd will always have fake art. Maybe you are getting that 10% chance and thinking it is real?
