It's probably silly to start my journey here off like this but after moving here from nookazon, a lot of things are different. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get started here? Are mystery bags allowed here also?

Just use one of the prefixes when you create a post over there. I should tell you now that things are a lot slower here in comparison to Nookazon. Especially now that the game has been out for a few years. You may either like this or hate it.
While bells and NMTs are sometimes used in trade, TBT is the most used currency in this forum. Here’s a link that will explain TBT. Numbers 10,11,13, and 14 explain TBT and how to use it.
Edit: I forgot to mention that there will be a Halloween event in the forum some time next week? Someone else can correct me. The date hasn’t been announced yet. It’s a lot of fun! You should participate when it’s out. In past events, some of the contests required you to dress up your character, house, and etc. and upload a picture.
