I'm A Boy With A Girl Character

It's not weird at all. If you are to play a game that much, better pick a character you'll enjoy to see for a long time =P

Not any more weird than guys playing as female characters on MMOs.

I know a lot of people do that in Pok?mon games, so why not in AC? I personally won't judge you n_n

I don't blame you girl outfits and especially qr codes are way better than boys' really

Not weird! I'm a girl with a boy character; it just feels more comfortable for some reason.

I've seen tons of guys play as girls cause it seems like they have more options in terms of clothes.

I have a guy on one cart, but my new main town is a girl mayor. Cooking Mama ayoooo
Pretty sure I usually go with female pokemon trainers. I haven't played Y in forever though so idek

am boy

I have one player who is a male in my town that I made for storage, but the other 3 are female. I usually play as the mayor, who is female. So I technically dont use the male. xP So not sure if this counts. LOL

I don't find it weird. Just as long as you don't try to trick people into thinking you're actually a girl (because that is super creepy).

I'm a girl, but I was a guy in both my other towns, but I just decided I wanted my mayor to be a girl. So, I restarted. But no. It's not weird at all. In my other games where you chose your character's gender, I'm usually a guy...especially on Rock Band, and my brother always chose a girl.

I'm a dude, and I have a mayor of each gender. Ami Mizuno is my female one, and also my main one. (I also have 3 other Sailor Moon characters there, Usagi, Makoto, and Hotaru. All are female.

As for the clothes.....all the ones intended for females suck. The unisex ones are the best! Ninja Outfit (Best) Zap Suits (Aside from that lame pink one), and all the ones of the historical theme are my favorites! Ones of the cute theme and modern theme are my least favorites.

Do whatever floats your boat man.

My mayor character is male, but I dress him in dresses sometimes because the dresses are cute so hey why not. I also regret using a male character in pok?mon because the girl has way better clothing choices. But in acnl it doesn't really matter what gender you pick, anyway? Ultimately, the only difference it makes is what eyes you have, what color your town ID is, and what color your pajamas are in dreams.
The clothes are unisex, the hair is unisex, whatever. And even in games where it does make a difference (like pok?mon), it's a game, it's meant to be fun. If you want to play a boy character, good for you, if you want to play a girl character, good for you. Do what you find fun. Be creative. It's a game!

And because WonderK mentioned something like that, I don't actually think it's creepy if you pass for a gender you're not. It's… not important? I dunno I feel like it's not important. I've had people call me by either him or her and I don't correct them because I don't care/don't see why it's important.
+ it's funny seeing how some people will treat you differently depending on what gender they assume you are :p

My secondary character is female, but my mayor is male. Play with either, it's up to you. I think with both genders in your town, you get the "full experience", if you could call it that.
