I'm doing a trade for a villager and their card is Japanese. I know in HHD they're perfectly normal but in NL will there be anything off? Like will the name be Japanese?

It SHOULD be in English since the game isn't Japanese. It wouldn't make sense if it was in Japanese in an English version of the game! ^^" Idk if that helps at all!

the RFID inside the card scans in the same character regardless of localization. your card will be in english since your localization of the game is in english, no matter what language the card you're scanning has on it.

No. I have Japanese amiibo cards (and a Japanese nfc reader too... NA 3ds though) and everything is in English when I scan them.

Cards aren't region locked or whatever so it'll show up in the language set on your 3DS

If your 3DS and AC New Leaf game is Japanese, they'll probably be named in Japanese :P But otherwise, everything would still be in English. My welcome amiibo cards are all in Japanese but they're in English after scanning them.
