How do you all like Sailor Moon Crystal so far? Initially, I was concerned about how serious and skinny the characters looked. Now that I've watched a couple of episodes, their stick-figures don't bother me much except for during the transformations sequences. Mercury's transformation was fine, but I didn't like Moon's. I feel as though they are over-doing-it with the CGI. I also wish that the transformation music was more upbeat like in the 90s version. I miss the wacky, over-the-top expressions and reactions. Yes there is some comedy there still, just not as wacky as it used to be. I know that it's supposed to be more like the manga, but it's the comedy that really got me into the series in the first place. I also noticed that it lacks the...um...harshness of the manga. In the first episode, the youma told Naru that her mother was tied up in the basement. In the manga, she told her that her mother was DEAD in the basement. So I guess censorship has become more strict in Japan? I wonder how they'll show Princess Serenity's suicide. During the second episode, while the teacher-youma was shooting "paper" at Moon, there was no blood. You're telling me she didn't get ONE paper cut out of that, lol? Overall, I have no major complaints and I can't wait to see the next episode with Mars :) .

What do you all think?

(There's already a thread here if you're interested :) )

I've enjoyed it so far, purely because it's Sailor Moon, but.. it has it's flaws.

That - combined with my bias for the original anime - will probably prevent me from enjoying it as much as I could, unfortunately. :p

Eh, I like it so far. I didn't watch much of the original anime, so I can't really do a comparison there. I like that they're sticking to the manga, but it almost feels like they're staying too faithful, if that makes any sense. I think I'll reserve further judgment until later on.
