If you had a large sum of money to change the world with, what would you do?

If you were given a large sum of money that you can only use for the good of the world, then how would you use it?​

I'm not just talking about donating it to charity either, but more about how you would involve yourself. I thought it'd be interesting to see the answers you give.

For me, I would build a bunch of giant 'hotels' for the homeless around in the poorer countries of the world. Places where people can have shelter and the basics for them to survive. Maybe even provide some jobs for them so that they can get on their own feet.
People who're able to could move on and leave, so that new people could come in.

I'd also try and help them find cures for the diseases that haven't been cured yet.


It may seem a bit idealistic, but it's just something to think about. You don't always need a large sum of money to make a difference anyway, and it'd be nice to hear some thoughts.

If I was given a large sum of money... I would donate it to alzheimers disease research. I've lost two grandparents to that disease, one on a Christmas morning. It's such a devastating thing, looking into somebody's eyes, knowing that you loved each other and were family, and now they don't even know you. So I would love to end that disease and come up with some sort of cure! If I still had money left over, I'd probably donate it to cancer research.

I'd build a large artificial island in the middle of the ocean and build a country/city on top of it all with artificial beaches and wilds. I'd make it a haven for all people, unless they have criminal records, or they're sexist, racist,or hoodrats. It'd be a true free country, no-one has guns because they're will be no need to use them, and all money goes to the people then cycles back into the government and back again, and we'll have, of course for protection, some type of concentrated energy gun and missiles that can obliterate half the planet, but it's only if a country wants to try to attack or invade us.
