If I had another island......

I would love to have another island to design. I have several idea for fun islands. Yet, I don't want to keep re-arranging my island just to try them out. If only I could buy another island with all this MONEY I have. Sigh!

So would you like to have another island? What would you do?

Well one of my idea (well two actually) is a Maze Island. For island design, I use MSPaint. It's basic but it does everything I need it to do. Makes it easy to do layouts. I know there is an app for this, but paint is quick and easy. Anyway, after getting the dimentions of the island. Along with how the beach is shaped and were the river exits are. I would then sit down and start making a maze design. Adding in buildings. I would probably line every house and building along the top map edge. Since that will free up having to see behind them. Kinda make it a major goal. I think I would use Bamboo Lattice fencing for the maze. As it is the tallest and gives added fun for short villagers. You running along and don't little Marshal has sat down in the path. Preventing you from continuing. ;P

The second part of this maze idea would be extreme TREE MAZE challenge. So, take that same maze. After you finished it. Then in every other spot. Plant a tree. So it would go Tree, Fence, Tree, Fence and so on. I got this idea when gathering fruit from my orchard. My trees are one space a part. This is a dence as you can make them and still grow fruit. I noticed that is is extremely hard to see where your walking. I some time have to go there to see if Celeste is hiding in the trees. ;P Still, just imagine having to get around an island that is not only a maze, but a Tree Maze. To do this quicker and with out having to wait for them to grow. You just go to rare islands and take the tree. Start from the top and work your way down.

How crazy are these idea. Still, a lot fun to visit an island like that right?

So again, what would you do with an extra island?

I would just level the whole island and put all the buildings I can move onto the beach, and then just start terraforming massive areas. I saw this rope bridge over water design on youtube, and it looked really cool so i'd definitely start with that.

I think I saw that same design. Looks very neat. Though I might get your idea or just have one in my head. Everyone gets beach front property. Deco out the beach area infront, maybe some fencing to section off there property. Then raise up the rest of the island behind them all the way back. Give some space around the nook building and create a long path from the building to the beach. Shops and museum can on the upper level with a few ramps leading up. Maybe the rope bridge leading to the shops or museum. So much possibility. Just thinking of it.

Your idea is probably different, but sounds like a lot of fun. Hope it all turns out how you in-vision.

Honestly this was just a pipe dream, but now i'm thinking of tearing down what little work i've done on my island and just going for it (although that'll have to be tommorow because it's 1am now rip :v). As soon as I finish moving my rocks. I am thinking of doing some photos. Or maybe a 30sec vid tour of my island. As soon as I figure out how to do that. ;P

I don't really have many specific ideas I'd use for a separate island, but there are a bunch of different themes I would like to experiment with. Like an urban-theme, natural-theme, tropical theme, etc. I'd like to do an island where the whole map is covered with rivers and mountains, but the incline/bridge limit kinda makes that difficult to do. It's annoying that we have to buy a whole new switch for a second island, and can't just use another game cartridge. There's so much I would wanna do, but can't, sadly.

What would be better is if they open it up so a second account on your switch could have there own island. Or if you could just buy an island. Like after you completed all Island Quests to unlock K.K, got your house fully paid off and got 5 stars on your island. After all that, Nook would offer to sell you another island. So you could do the same thing. Only thing is this time would slightly be different. It would have an airport and that's it. No museum, shops or center. You would either have a shop in the airport for mail order delivery or new traveling merchant working for the nooks who offered the stuff they sold. Also, you would not get traveling visitors to your island. So no Sahara or Celeste or such. This would prevent abuse from that. Since the shops would not be there. You could increase the number of villagers you have to like 12 or 15. Oh and no duplicate villagers. So if you have Raymond on your main. He can't be on the new island as well, but you can move them to that island.

As you can guess I have given this a lot of thought. ;P

Also what about Desert Theme. You could cover the island in sand. Put the villagers and all the buildings near each other to make one big oasis. The only area with grass. Surround it with the river and maybe a small pond with palm trees in another area. Though not sure about the decorations. To bad there are not big cactus or cow skulls. Have to give it more thought. ;P

Since you wouldn't have shops and the museum there, maybe the second island could take away a bunch of the restrictions on terraforming and building. Like, it would be an island purely for creative purposes. An oasis would look gorgeous~ I think it'd be cool too if you could customize Nook's, Able's, and the museum to match your theme, but that's not gonna happen any time soon. I agree about the decorations though. The furniture and decorations in this game seem kinda limited. Hopefully they'll add some more in though!

I could see them adding the ability to get another island. Or at the very least, letting alternate accounts have their own island. It's something that has been whispered about and requested heavily. Though most other features would probably be a no.

I don't think the furniture is limited. Just that they never really though about these items. I mean there is a lot of furniture. There could always be more though. ;P

Ever since New Leaf I've thought about making an arctic town without any trees. I think it would be an interesting challenge to try to make that look good. Now that we have outdoor furniture it would be easier than ever to do that. Plus, it would be nice to have a bunch of winter themed villagers. It's not something I'd want my main town to be, so if I ever get a second town I think it'll an interesting thing to attempt.

if i were to have another island in the same save im in i would probably try to go for a more urban theme. if i had another island but in a completely different save, id go for a different color airport so i can have different colored items for my nook mile objects. smh i rly despise this color-lock the more i play.

I don't mind the color lock so much. It opens up trade and interaction with others. Though it would be nice if once you traded for a color to be able to buy it yourself from the catalog. Still, if I ever have stuff to trade people. It gives me something to ask for. I don't have many wants. So it's nice to have some options for people when they ask for my stuff.

The island I have now is forest-y and urban but I’ve always thought if I could have another island I’d want to make it a giant theme park with bright colors everywhere!

Neat idea but sadly not everything can be pink. You will only be able to make your house pink. The rest will be random. Still, find yourself a pink grass design. So you can change all your green grass to pink. ;P

Honestly if I could have another island, it would be to have another 10 different villagers!! There are so many cute ones out there that I had to pass up bc of the 10 villager limit! I would probably go for a more natural theme and maybe have an area dedicated to each season.
