So have you realized how the game won't let you see you're mom? They won't let you write back to her! And when she says I wanna visit they probably don't let her come in! It's just spooky how much the animal hate your mom! It's scary!

First of all, I am not a mother. I'm not even female.
Secondly, a lot of video games don't show the parents. I guess it's some type of trope. Also, I kinda wish Dad wrote more. I think the only time he sends a letter is on Father's Day and Toy Day.

One of my friends once told me that on Wild World the mom actually came to her house, but I didn't believe her. ;~;
But on a more..."truthful-and-related-to-the-topic" note, I do remember that even on past games Mom would write more than Dad, so it would be really nice if Dad got to write more often, and if we got to reply to our parents' letters.

I've had Dad write me a few times on one character, my male character, but that's over the course of a year so it might have just been a random luck thing, or have to do with having more then one character? Idk

There are theories about the unrealistic parts of AC (besides the obvious things) and the letters are a big part of it. If you were dropped off at the wrong town and suddenly elected mayor, and you can't write to anyone outside of the town, how do your parents know where you live? People say that the animals write these letters to make you think your family knows you're safe and to give the impression that your family isn't searching for you.

I have never thought of that before, but I think it really makes sense!

Kazuki Takahashi, who came up with the concept for Animal Crossing said that when he moved to a new city, he felt isolated and alone, that could be part of why you don't see you're parents, because in the game it's almost as if you're cut off from the outside world. Just an imput :3

I don't think that you arrived in the wrong town. If you did, the map would be completely different than the one you chose on the train. Besides, writing back is something probably implied, like eating or going to the bathroom (Although, villagers do question this one at a time...)

I hate getting letters from 'mom'

I don't have a 'mom' I have a mum, thanks.
