I think I've been sleeping on Harv's island all this time...

So I just spent half an hour messing around on Harv's island. I think I underestimated how much fun I'd have creating little scenes with my villagers. I'd mostly just been thinking of it as a room planning tool, which seemed only marginally useful. I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to create little stories with their villagers.

Here, Bob and my character are scared, but poor Tangy just couldn't take it....

Anyone have cool scenes they've set up?

For the most part I just use Harvey's island to take the mugshots of my villagers, lol. It's just been a theme for my island journal.

I did make a wrestling match scene for Poncho, my first starter that moved last month.

Wow! That looks great! Tangy looks adorable! So does Bob and your rep! I love your positioning of the items and the lighting!

For the sleepover at harv’s, I based mine on Fullmetal Alchemist a little. Ed represents Edward Elric, Alphonso as Alphonse, Roscoe as Greed, Pekoe as Mei Ling (I think that was her name), Winnie as Winry, and Raymond maybe as Hohenheim. Here Ed and Alphonso are trying (again) to bring back their beloved mother long after their other friends (some of them failures from past attempts - such as Ribbot and Coco) had fallen asleep. Unfortunately, this attempt too went wrong and brought back one or two unwelcome guests - Lucky and Bahamut (the design on the back wall is mine from HHd; the outfit is based on FFX’s Bahamut aka Creepy Kid).

Another creation I made at Harv’s studio was for Dreamy Dresser. The Muggy Kingdom from One Piece starring Dracule Mihawk.

I ended up editing it after submitting my entry and incorporating it into my house:

the skulls represent the mandrills zoro defeated, the bandages represent memories of an injured zoro, the umbrella represents memories of Perona.

Sometime after the fair, I made a room at the studio that I also incorporated into my house (just moved it to a recently made alt). It is the cartographer’s room on The Thousand Sunny; @Pyoopi’s cartography room inspired me tremendously along with the anime . You can find it in my post here

I'm not familiar with Fullmetal Alchemist, but I LOVE the idea of recreating tv/movie scenes in the cabin! Definitely going to give that a try with some of my favorite shows!

It was really fun and I love the idea of having actual new horizons screenshots in our signatures so once I figure out a theme I'm planning on taking a picture of all of my villagers hanging out!

admittedly, it took me several weeks to figure out that this is how everyone gets their amazing screenshots of their "slumber parties" and everything else. i was scouring the internet looking for how it was possible, and then all of a sudden i came across a really well-done video on youtube someone made with Harv's island. i felt like a total tool, but ohman.. the pictures are worth it <3

That's a really cute idea! I've been brainstorming things to do with the cabin. Holidays are the obvious thing to me, but I like welcome and farewell parties a lot! One last chance to get pictures before they go

I put them on Tangy first, and fell in love, so that's actually why I picked Bob as the second character here. I had a pair to match him too

Now that I am home from work, I can dig up my pictures! This is one of the first setups that I ever did back when everybody was complaining about Harvey's Cabin. It is from my very first version of Oakheart, so I don't have any of these items anymore. This one is supposed to be a skeezy dive bar.

I do have quite a bit of amiibos, so I'm able to pick and choose my models. I thought that Cherry, Tiffany, and Monique made the perfect "mean girl" trilogy with Lolly being the new girl to their group before she evolved into a mean girl. Plus we have dear, sweet Sydney being scammed by our favorite Elvis Impersonator and his bodyguards.

And now the pictures that everyone wants to see: welcoming parties! I have only started to do them with Pietro and I don't remember when I got Lobo, so I don't think he has one. I also had to go diving through photos to find them, so I got my favorite two.

The first party is for Lobo. I am pretty sure. I looked back in my island journal and found that I just posted Pietro's party and I compared that to this one. Since Lobo is at the head of the table, I'm pretty sure this was his party.

I really started personalizing the parties when I got Merengue. We threw her a get together at a diner. I thought it came out really nice!

Bonus points if you spot the customized Oakheart Diner clock!

I haven't thrown a party for Piper or our most recent addition Velma yet. I wanted to do something dark and elegant for Piper and didn't have the right options for what I wanted to do. I think I have some better furniture now, so I can get to that!

More recently, I made a diner for Merengue! I figure it is her dream to own her own diner.

Thank you! You can really see how I've evolved with getting things set up. I love taking photoshoots and I have loved it since day one. It really makes me happy to see people figuring out the appeal of Harv's Cabin after it felt like I was the only one who loved it for so long.

i have also been sleeping on harv's island. i never go there, honestly the only times i've been there have been during the wedding event and the tbt fair. i have seen people do really cool things there though, maybe i should give it a try

The last time I went to Harv's island, I wanted to see what my upstairs would look like if I turned it
into a dance club. I then brought in some of my villagers who looked like they were having a blast.

Mitzi looks like she wants to ask Punchy to dance, but he's too excited about all the free drinks.

Whoa all of this are so cute! I always have no idea what to do with Harv’s island, as I was just using it to check out how the clothes look on my villagers. I am glad I can have more ways to enjoy my game!
