I think I may have found an easy way to find mushroom furniture.

This may be entirely a coincidence, but it might not.
Yesterday I was heading to Main Street and I still had my four mushrooms in my pocket. I decided to put them on my station plaza, because I didn't want to accidentally sell them with my random reorderable stuff, and then I forgot about them.
Today I found a mushroom that turned out to be a mush table, and upon further inspection of my town I discovered that there weren't any other mushrooms. Then I happened to walk by the plaza and found my other mushrooms.

I've heard of people not finding any mushroom furniture because they already had several mushrooms in their town, so it seems pretty possible that if you already have four mushrooms, only one will spawn, and it will be the furniture.

I'm picking mine up tonight because I actually like hunting for them, but I thought I'd put this out there for people who have a hard time finding the mushrooms.

Sadly I think it's just a coincidence. I have 9 mushrooms in town and I have yet to find a furniture piece. =x

^ ~5 mushrooms spawn every day, including one which is a mush furniture piece, but if you have more than 5 mushrooms on the ground then no new mushrooms will spawn, and therefore you won't find any mush furniture. You should put any decorative mushrooms in storage for november if you want to find mush pieces *u*

Oh, OK I think you're right. I just looked at the wiki page about the mushroom series in NL. It seems to be obtained the same way as in CF. I only played GC and WW so I thought since we don't get acorns anymore, that it's gonna be from the stump mushrooms. I'll have to try out the new method.

Yeah, I didn't get any new mushrooms for the first few days because I had other ones lying around for decoration purposes, and then when I put them all into storage, I got 5 the next day, one of which was mush furniture!

and fyi the mushrooms spawn by any tree in november, not just by stumps with designs on them like in the other months

Just bear in mind that you need to collect mushrooms for the Harvest Festival as well. Also it's a nice bit of money when you sell the extras.
