I seem to find quality in all video games

It seems that whenever I see someone complain about a game and it's technical flaws, the only thing that comes to my mind is that they are being a little bit ungrateful. Whenever I hear complaints about a game having slow down/bad frame rate, a bad camera, glitches or even bad graphics and/or animation(s), I say "Well, it could have been way worse". Whenever I play a game, I look for creativity "and/or" entertainment. The only complaints I may listen to is if a game is too short and/or too easy and/or isn't fun or creative to begin with. However, to be honest, even after all of that, I might not even listen to the complaints. If "I" know that "I" will have fun playing it, I don't listen to any criticism that is contrary to what I feel.

For example, I like Sonic 06. Some complained about the story not following anything in the series and just not making sense as a whole, but I really didn't care because I didn't get or play it for the story (In fact, I got this in a bargain bundle pack that had three games for around like $30 or less and it happened to be one of the games in the bundle), I played it for overall entertainment. Also, some found the game to be glitchy (which is very true), but I actually found the unstableness of the game to be kind of fun because there was so much you can do to the game that was not intended. I also heard complaints about slowdown but it didn't bother me at all. The only complaint I really can get are the loading screens, but only to an extent. I only found the loading screens to be annoying with missions, especially if you keep messing up on them and have to keep trying them again. Overall, I found the gameplay to be fun and interesting for silver, shadow and sonic.

Another example is the Family Party 30 Great Games series. I have heard that the minigames are unoriginal and all of the games are just waggle. I have played the first three games in the series and they are very fun in my opinion. Although it is true that most of the minigames are waggle games, but they used it in a way that is actually creative and fun in my opinion. Also, not all of the minigames were unoriginal but very few are original anyway so that's not saying much.

Yeah, I think I am just a person who is more lenient on the quality of video games than most gamers. What do you think? Do you feel the same way as me?

You have to consider the context of the complaints. It is one thing to pay a low price for a sub-par game, but entirely another to try and justify a poorly constructed product with a high price tag. I cannot speak for everyone, but some people, myself included, evaluate games on the basis of "is this worth spending money on when I could spend it on something else, since I have a limited budget for luxuries because I have other financial obligations to meet?" I have no problem playing any game if the experience justifies the price I'm being offered for it.

I'm a lot like you, chillv. If I know I will have fun playing a game, I will buy it. I usually wait until games go on sale or buy used though. I bought a game for the 3DS called Zoo Resort, and although the reviews on it were pretty much "This game sucks." I still bought it. I love animals and this game was really fun to me. I got to take pictures of the animals, feed them, get my park rating up, and expand. To some people, that's not a lot to do but even so I liked the game. I don't have problems with glitches unless it totally breaks my game.

Yeah, most shovelware that I buy are usually only 5 dollars or less but some of them I wouldn't mind paying $30 or less for.

Well, the game I mentioned called Sonic 06 has glitches that can lead to unfair deaths or having to restart a level completely. However, I never triggered any of these glitches during my playthrough of all three of the characters but maybe I was just lucky.

There are some games, mostly games based off of movies that I can't seem to find quality in.

Me too, a lot of games based on movies aren't very good. The only games I know that are at least decent are Monsters Vs. Aliens, Madagacar, Over the Hedge, The Incredibles, Toy Story 3. It seems that games that are based on Dream Works and Disney Pixar movies are the only good movie based games.

Criticism of a thing =/= disliking that thing.

I often really enjoy TV shows and video games and movies, but that doesn't make me blind to its flaws and just because I criticize something it doesn't mean I don't have fun experiencing it or that I can't stand to continue with that thing. Often it's quite the opposite, because it usually shows I care about it and its success.

Even if a game is free, I think anyone is completely justified criticizing it. If no one ever criticizes, then nothing will ever improve, and people will go on making things the same way with the same problems. That's true for any creative work.

Of course, if it's a really low-quality game, an expensive price-tag does it no favors.

You forgot about the SpongeBob Squarepants movie game.
Otherwise, The games you wrote are actually pretty good.

I'm extremely picky about games now that I'm older. I work full-time now and don't have much free time so how I choose to spend my free time is much more important now than when I was younger and had almost limitless free time.

Nowadays I mainly stick to series and companies I know make high quality games. I want my gaming experience to be of the highest quality with interesting characters and dialogue, challenging battles in combat games, and overall a smooth and fun experience not ruined by glitches, poor targeting, and otherwise poor gameplay.
