Okay to cut a long story short I bought Twilight Princess yesterday (I'm so slow on getting that game!) I've played up to the part where you get a lantern...But when I try to go into the dark cave/tunnel that plant monster pops up, but thats not the problem, I kill it but then Link decides that he's only going to walk in one direction.
The first time I reseted the game, went back, it happened again...I've been looking at my playing times and it seems to happen after 6-7 minutes playing. (As in load up the game save, play 6 minutes, save and turn off)
It's happened about 5 times now, I've tried the nunchuck reset (C+Z (If thats wrong tell me!)) but Link still walks in one direction after 6-7 mins, I've googled it as well, but there was no luck.

So what should I do? Should I buy a new nunchuck?
Oh and the copy of Twilight Princess was preowned at HMV, so that might have something to do with it...
So any help here?

Is your Nunchuk firmly connected to the Wii Remote? If it disconnects from the Wii Remote for even a split second and reconnects while you're holding the control stick in a direction, it will mess up the directional controls.

It's connected all the time, I use Motion Plus most of the time, so I use the wedge thing...but on last time I played it said the nunchuck wasn't connected when it was. But next time I'll check.

>motion plus

i have no clue, as i don't own one and wasn't ever really interested enough to research it.. but having that extra accessory there might be a problem..

playing the game without motion plus might work, or at least give you a more stable connection, if that's what's wrong.

i didn't know the nunchuk had a reset button combo.. just unplugged it when it messed up/was set wrong :/

It's also because Twilight Princess doesn't use motion plus. There's kind of a four or something year difference between the product releases. You should not use it with old games. That's your problem.
Also, you could try blowing on it (the inside of the socket and the input connector). Get the dust out if there is any.

*What's reseted? XD reset.

That happened to me yesterday while playing ACCF...I unplugged it and then plugged it in again. But apparently you've already tried that. Yeah, and don't use Motion PLus with a game that doesn't use it. That's kinda common sense.

I keep the motion plus on because its so frustrating taking it off for one game then putting it back on for another. I could use my other wii remote but it sucks new batteries dry faster than my other remote; I guess I'll have to go with frustration then, but I'll still by a new nunchuck 'cos I only have one.
But thanks for your help guys!

@Mochacho, I typed that first post at about 6AM, not in what ever time your living in (I live in the UK not America!); I was tired, tired=bad spelling/grammar.

also in accf if you lose conection with the wii mote

then touch the nunchuk first you will only walk in one direction

the way to get rid of this is to disconnect your wii mote the re connect it via wii menu

That has nothing to do with it. You can play any Wii game with Wii MotionPlus connected regardless of whether or not the game actually uses it.

Okay, I tried peoples advice, taking off the motion plus and it worked! I put the motion plus back on and the nunchuck screwed up...so it seems that the motion plus was to blame.

Do you lock your Wii Motion Plus to your Wii Remote? If you don't, that may explain why your Nunchuk was disconnecting.

Yeah, I lock it. I'm the person who always follows those little safety things when you load a Wii game.

Hm, I don't know what the problem is then.

You should get FlingSmash when it comes out. It comes with a free Wii Remote that has Wii Motion Plus built in, so you shouldn't have any problems with the Wii Motion Plus.
