I have a problem with normals -_-

As much as I love the Normal personality, having too many of them gets boring very quickly.

I kind of agree with this. But I don't think that there's sub-types within a personality, just that some tend to use more of certain dialogue making them seem different from others of the same type. Like I have three normals in my town, Coco, Marina and Lily. Coco and Marina say similar things a lot, but Lily is always trying to sell me something. She's constantly trying to get cash for something or make some bells for a new book. Seems like she's always hustling lol which makes her personality seem different.

I agree. I also have atm, Flurry and Merengue. While I've been bored and annoyed by Flurry for MONTHS, I don't find Merengue annoying or boring at all. I still wish Merengue was an uchi, because it fits her look more. But they just seem different somehow. Merengue seems kind and sweet, whereas for some reason the same dialogue come out preachy or annoying from Flurry. I really think it depends on how much you like the villager, how they look, their facial expressions etc. It's like IRL, when a friend can say something that doesn't bother you, whereas if someone you didn't like or a stranger said the same EXACT thing, you'd find them rude/annoying/whatever.

I currently now have three normals due to a streetpasser depositing Lolly, and honestly, I cannot wait for at least one of them to leave. I can only take so much of that personality.

Normals are cute and if you really like them so much then have a full town of them as you wish. I think that most people prefer different personalities because the interaction between different kind of villagers are fun to see. That's why people probably feel like they're not supposed to.

I can see your problem tho, I have the same. It's just that I like the designs of normal villagers more than others. U used to have 6 normal villagers, now I have 5. And I must say, it does get kinda boring. I'm trying to get Tia and Skye out so I have 'only' three then. Molly, Merengue and Lily are just too cute to let go!
