Why can't she be a villager. ;-;
Anyway, Katie is indeed an NPC. She cannot be sold nor kept in a town forever.
Simply take her to visit a town, and she'll then go and disappear.

She's so small and cute with that backpack ^_^ I wish they had kitten villagers like her! I mean, they have bear cubs, so why not kittens?? Lol
Hi there! As stated above, Katie the kitten can't be adopted as she's a special character (NPC). We do have this thread for people looking to drop off Katie in another town, though you may have trouble finding someone to pay for this as it's normally done for free. You're still welcome to post and see if you get any takers, and best of luck finding someone to take her off your hands.
