ugh I restarted my town but I only picked a few items to bring over to my other town and I left things like a bunch of sets, rare items and a bunch of money and I'm really kicking myself for it because I didn't try to sell it or at least give it away and if I did it would've been way easier to get things that I currently need for my town

This comment is so annoying... Day-to-day play is not slow play, it's just normal play. Why do you see time traveling as such a normal thing and find day-by-day playing the weirder option? I'm fine with people time traveling, but the ignorance annoys me.

Anyway, it's okay nintendoanna. You shouldn't feel obligated to sell or give away your stuff, I personally don't want to give away all of my stuff when resetting because it can take you quite some time and I like the idea of it being left in that town. I understand how you feel though, because you don't want to take a lot of stuff from people without giving things yourself. But as long as you don't ask for too much, it's alright. You're probably a nice person so you could always help new players later or give things to others.

Don't feel bad! I like restarting my towns every few months, but it's seldom that I don't forget something that I intended to take. Most often I forget my bells, or I might take a phonograph but forget my music.

Usually before I re-start, I try to sell everything that I'm not taking - - not really for the money, so much as to get it out of the way so that I can identify the things I plan to take. I even sell the regular flowers since I only take my hybrids. Still, it is easy to forget something.
