Let me get this straight. I HATE HIPPEUX! He annoys me to the brink of INSANITY. But I interacted with him whilst doing a favour for Rosie and now I think he's my friend. How can I get rid of him now? How long will it take if I just wait? Oh, and I don't really want to create another character.

Is that the only interaction you've had? To check if you're on the friends list, see if you can address a letter to him. If not, you might still be okay on that part.

The ignoring method doesn't work worth **** anyway, in my experience. I gave up on it a long time ago, and I've had much better luck with moving people out now that I don't ignore them I try to talk to them as much as I can and do a couple favors for them no matter how much I hate them, and they'll move. Ignoring is just borked.

I had Hippeaux as well. I know how it feels. I wanted to scoop my eyeballs out with spoons.

I have tried many different variations of the ignoring method. Never works. Befriending them and making them your bff works almost everytime. Its like they accomplished their purpose in your town and once thats been achieved, they go. (Havent you noticed that your favorite villager always pings you?). Try that. I know, it hurts because you dont like him, but otherwise he might be there forever.

I don't even bother with BFF. I get to a neutral/normal plane with them and while my BFFS try to move more, they move out just fine. No need to go above and beyond for the ones you hate unless you want their pics

in my experience, if you talk to them in your town at all, it starts the friendship chain and then ignoring doesn't work. I would try the TT method of TT forward 3-4 days (very carefully, your mileage may vary) and actually try to be his friend instead of ignoring him.
