I can't find this 4th buried fossil to save my life

Every day for the last 3 days in my cycling town, I have only found 3 out of 4 buried fossils. I can't find the 4th fossil anywhere. I've looked behind trees, rocks, destroyed all my flowers, still nothing. The next step would be to just chop down every single one of my trees, but I don't have a golden axe, and I'm not that desperate--I'm annoyed, for sure, but not that desperate.

I'm considering putting together a search party to find this fossil. If there's 3 (4?) of us all looking at once, then it doesn't stand a chance, right??

Has this ever happened to anyone before?

Haha yes very often.
It helps it you make the camera go up , because you see behind houses and whatnot.

Do you have bushes in your town? Sometimes a fossil can be hiding behind there. Also if you have any buildings that are really close to a river, look behind there. I've had holes appear right on the edge of the river behind my police station. I hope you find it. It is so frustrating not being able to find them...

I hate that. There have been times I cut down a tree or removed a bush just to find an x there that I never even saw before. I wish there was a better way to see if they are hidden, or the game made it so they couldn't be generated behind something, idk

Oh this happens to me all the time! It's not until I start watering all the flowers that I'll find the very last fossil.. I find them in hiding spots near one of the villager's house, on the edges of the river/slopes, close by cluttered ish trees or around other bigger buildings. I know that if your breeding flowers are in a similar or like this kind of set up xoxox y'know (x) being the flowers and (o) is the spaces. Some of them are buried between the flowers in the empty spaces where the hybrids can pop up. It's almost like eye spy !

Happens all the time. I honestly don't even bother for the 4th fossil because I just cannot find it!

Ok glad to know I'm not alone in the struggle.

I don't have any bushes, so it can't be hiding behind one of those.

I don't really have any tree clusters either, because I haven't changed anything about my landscape since I started the town.

I'll probably just give up, lol. Then when I do find it one day, I'll throw the d*mn thing in the garbage can.

An update. Someone came over to help me find the fossil. We found it in less than 2 minutes. It was literally right in the open. In front of my face. I am so mad. SO MAD!!

Sometimes they are just hidden in plain sight.

Still not as bad as the time I was driving myself crazy looking for my 4th fossil. The 4th was actually on the edge of the ramp to the beach where I knew I buried a time capsule for a villager 100% So I thought to myself, that's not the fossil, that's the time capsule every time I passed by the ramp. For 3 days I could not for the life of me find the 4th fossil until I realized it was actually just buried at the ramp right where the time capsule was. I later found out that time capsules disappear after you bury them until a day your villager wants to get it back, lol. I felt so stupid. I wasted so much time... Trolled by the time capsule. Never again XD

I find it's worse in November, they blend in so much with the orange/brown colour scheme. I just spent 2 days looking for my 4th fossil only to find it literally sat next to one of the little ponds (right by Re-Tail, gosh I'm blind.)

I think it's always 4, but sometimes it's almost impossible to find the last one because it hides behind flowers or in corners.

4th?! I couldn't find the 2nd, 3rd OR 4th for ages. I'm back up to 2 a day now though. Haven't the foggiest where the other two could be mind...

LOL, this happens a lot to me in real life. Something's in plain sight, yet I can never find it. But when somebody else looks, they find it. cx
