Hybrids not growing correctly?

I have been trying to grow black roses for a while now and I think something is wrong. On the guide I saw, it says to cross red roses together and it will create black roses. The thing is when I do that, it grows pink roses. I'm pretty sure pink roses are grown with red and white roses, not two red roses. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I wanted to know if it's happening to anyone else. Thanks.

Are you using seed Red Roses specifically? They have a 25% of getting Black and a 25% chance of getting Pink, so it sounds like you're just getting unlucky.
