I have no idea how long my villager will be crafting, i started up my game 20 minutes ago so i will assume they will be crafting for a couple of hours more, but since i already have the DIY for the lamp i got a spare one, also i have another account on my island so i can get another one just in case my villager decides to stop crafting so either way it will be fine, you and your friend can get the DIYs =)
