I got into Pok?mon in the fourth grade when this boy tried to bribe me into dating him with copies of Pok?mon Crystal and Sapphire and a Mudkip plushie. Because I'm not for sale (that's kind of a really gross attitude to have towards girls tbh and I was creeped out even as a kid) I told him no, but he told me to keep the goods anyway and I've adored Pok?mon from the moment I plugged that Sapphire in. <3
Do you have any weird/interesting stories from getting into a series?
I've been playing Pokemon for a long time. I remember playing the old games like Yellow and Silver with my dad and sister when I was really young. I did lots of silly stuff with my sister while playing them and playing older games always remind me of that X3
I'm still a big fan of all the Pokemon games and I'm always super excited about new releases. I can't wait for ORAS, cause Emerald was my very first actual Pokemon game and I'm looking forward all the new changes in it.
My favorite series is Mass Effect, my parents bought me the third game for Christmas (they had just looked up the most popular games of 2012 lol) and I loved it so I bought the first two.
Pokemon would probably be a close second, my brother got me into that one.
I grew up with most of 'em. Like The Elder Scrolls and Zelda, my two favorites, for example. And Harvest Moon, Fallout, The Sims, a little of Final Fantasy. I can thank my brothers for all of those.
I think Animal Crossing (GC) was my first video game, so I got into that on my own, as well as Pokemon and Phoenix Wright. I only like horror games like Silent Hill thanks to hilarious Let's Plays that showed me the fun in the genre.
Pokemon? I don't remember that well, I was three then... But if the story's true, then my father brought Pokemon Blue back from his trip to the UK. I played it and continued the series, and it became one of my favourite series.
Zelda's another, but OoT happened to be one of the first games I ever played, so... Nostalgia, I guess?
I got into Animal Crossing when I was about 15. I had a gift card and I decided I was going to buy a new DS game with it. This was before I knew you could find game reviews and recommendations online so I would just go to the shop and pick whatever looked cool. I ended up picking Animal Crossing Wild World and I honestly don't even remember why. Maybe it was the bright colours and cute characters. All I know is that I was addicted within days and that my little brother and best friend both bought the game as well when they saw how much fun I was having.
my fave is the zero escape series. i played it bc i was bored and it was one of the best decisions i have ever made in my life. i really do hope there will be a third game or ill be forever sad
All my friends started talking about how awesome pokemon was and I was feeling left out, so I said "I LOVE POKEMON!" even though in first grade I hadnt heard of pokemon before. the day after, my mom took me to gamestop and got me pokemon Firered and Emerald. Thats how I got into Pokemon and I still love it. XD
I got Ocarina of Time when I was 9 for Christmas because my mom thought the game starred a girl XD
either way it is entirely her fault I play video games right now
My friend helped me beat OoT because she had already beaten it herself, so she gave me hints and everything. A year later, Majora's Mask came out and I got it for my birthday. THAT was the first game (besides like...Mario Kart) that I beat by myself.
I have owned every single Zelda game since then... I literally buy nintendo systems for Zelda games (of course other things come out and I want them, but the initial thought process is "there's gonna be a zelda game on this system so I need it right now")
Yeah
Once I have enough money I plan to get the Hylian crest tattooed on my back, specifically the one from Ocarina of Time (the new design is less appealing to me)
Um the first time I went to Florida, when I was five, we stopped at a gamestop and my parents let me and my brothers each pick out a cheap gameboy color game, and I found Harvest Moon GBC
Unfortunately, that copy couldn't save at all, but it was still enough to get me into the series : P
Now I own every handheld HM game \o/
tales series and legend of zelda, both were introduced to me by my brother and his friends who played a little of both titles, which sometimes they regret it because i talk about both series constantly * V*
I got into Pokemon in 3rd grade when Pokemon Diamond/Pearl was just released. My best friend was a HUGE Pokemon fan and he told me everything about it. I bought a DS Lite and bought Diamond. I had a struggle with the Pokemon league lol. But when I got my Sapphire game, it was my drug. :')
I didn't particularly care about video games until I was around 6. My friend got a new DS lite, along with Pokemon Pearl. I watched her play everyday, and eventually the year after I got a DS lite for my birthday. I watched the Pokemon anime before getting the game, and that was pretty much it.
For animal crossing, I played animal crossing wild world when I got my DS lite. Though at the time I really didn't understand the concept of it, and I was wondering why some weird raccoon was asking me for money. And how my house was infested with cobwebs and cockroaches. After that I never really touched it again.
However in the year 2013, I was scrolling through youtube, and went to my favorite youtuber's channel. There he was, with episode 1 of animal crossing new leaf. I didn't really care for it that much at the time, but I clicked the video anyways.
After that I was like "I MUST GET THE GAMEE" And here I am now.
Animal Crossing:
Once upon a time, I was in ASDA... And although they dont do it much now, they were selling games super cheap.
I was walking around and I saw a copy of ACLGTTC (with wii speak too). I always liked animals, and I loved some of the ones featured on the cover. I never really planned on getting it, however, until I realised at other places, they were selling for ?50-?60. In the end, I thought, why not? I mean, if it turned out bad, I could just cash it in. I found gameplay alright, then SHE moved in. Rosie. Same name as my dog, and looked adorable.
When I was maybe eight I went to this place to get a haircut, and they had the seats set up so you could play video games during it. I got to play Wind Waker and I thought it was the coolest game ever because you could smash vases and chase pigs and stuff so my parents ended up buying the game for me, and later I fell in love with the whole series.
Bioshock: It was a dare. I had to find a FPS game or a variant of that and actually play it. I picked up the original Bioshock. I wasn't excited, since I knew nothing of this game and I thought all FPS games had no story and all you had to do was shoot. Bioshock was different. I love horror games. I also like games with a fantastic story. I was really happy while playing Bioshock, and I loved every part of it. So, playing Bioshock really got me into loving Irrational Games and wanting to play the next one.
