A big "Eh..." from me. Definitely convenient but would dampen the spirit of the game.
I also have amiibo so I can already do this anyway.

I welcome it! I spent a month and a half trying to get ri... Kindly ask my starter to leave with gentle taps and she stood.

I voted I would like it but instead of having the option outright, what I want is for villagers to keep showing up on the NMT islands even if we have a full island and for us to have the option to still invite them and kick someone of our choosing out of our island and replace them (kind of like how the amiibo works). This way, villagers aren’t kicked out willy nilly (only if we encounter our dreamies or someone we like better than our current villagers) and we can go villager hunting anytime we want.

Personally I wouldn’t like it, because it feels more natural to not have control over everything—I think it would just undermine the villages “autonomy” too much. While it’s frustrating from time to time, I think the satisfying payoff of finally seeing somebody move is more rewarding than the convenience of a simple eviction.

However, I’d be in favor of making the process a bit quicker. A way to encourage them to move, or just a higher frequency of them asking to leave. I’ll agree that the requests come much too infrequently (I’ve yet to get rid of Graham, and he’s my forced camper ;ェ; )

As convenient as that sounds, I think I prefer the way it is now. I’m pretty impulsive so if I caught a wild hair idea to boot someone and had the ability to do so immediately, I can see myself regretting it. On the flip side, even if I’m pretty sure I’m not going to let a villager go, having them randomly ask every so often gives me a chance to evaluate if I really want them permanently.

I didn't expect a lot to be against this option in comparison to those who would love this option. I wouldn't care either way because I'm not the type of person who wants a villager to leave. I'm not picky about the villagers that move in. I don't care how they look. I would prefer specific villagers to live on my island, but beggars can't be choosers. Unless this was an option, then I guess residents would get to experience hospitality or hostility.

I'm not crazy about the idea but on the other hand I don't like how infrequent villagers ask to leave, and I legitimately have not had the one villager I've wanted to leave ask to move out since the game came out.

I'd find this kinda funny and can definitely think of some cool things to do with this feature. I could start a survivor game show on my own island with areas for it, and whoever loses that week gets evicted from my island! I could even start a poll in new horizons, like for example bk123's or magus', and just evict everyone that loses. Of course that would mean a lot of my villagers, including my dreamies getting evicted, but to be honest I would be perfectly fine with that, because this seems like it would be a lot more fun than just looking at my villagers and going 'yeah he/she's cool, look at them they're sitting on a bench this time, epic'. To be fair though I do just love being a dictator on my island because i'm childish and it's a funny concept for me, so this might not go down so well with some of the more hardcore fans.

I wouldn't like this feature because I've started making a point of only letting my villagers leave once I've received their framed photo, so it would be basically useless to me. I enjoy the randomness aspect of the game, too, so that would take away from the feeling of satisfaction of having the moving out thought bubble transfer to the villager I want to move out.

I feel like I would enjoy the option, I always end up speed running games and I actually enjoy doing that, so if I could immediately get any villager out I'd love it. I'm not a very patient person. It would also be so much easier to help get people the villagers they want instead of waiting, time traveling hoping its them, using an amiibo, or hoping an animal comes in your campsite. Idk that's just my opinion

I'm kinda eh about it. It would be nice to move unwanted villagers out soon, especially those who don't ask to move out very often, but I feel like it would just ruin Animal Crossing because then all those villagers would probably be missed out on. I mean, say you don't like a certain villager, you move them out right away, but then you would miss out on an opportunity to find a new villager you might like. I know I've had a couple of villagers that I thought I wouldn't like and really want to move out as soon as possible, but then they grew on me and I found some new favorites. I know some other people have too. Sometimes you think you hate a villager, but then realize later on you love them. I hope that makes sense, but I understand why some people won't like all villagers and why they want them out as soon as possible...

To me the way the game determines who asks to leave has never made sense. If you are really nice to villagers, talk to them, give them gifts, it only makes sense they would want to stay cause they are happy. Yet they are always the ones who want to leave. it should be the ones you ignore and don't raise friendship with would want to leave. This way makes sense and I think that's how the game should choose who asks to leave. I voted yes because if it's the only option i'll use it but fixing the game mechanics would be the best way to me. Also i agree with the person who said we should still see villagers on the mystery islands even when we have the max villagers and could get villagers to move that way. And I also think that amiibo card or not when we try to move someone in from the campsite we should be able to choose who goes. Or that the new camper will only pick from say the 2 or 3 villagers with the least friendship to the player.

I personally wouldn't like it. While we may have an unwanted villager on our islands, I feel like everything happens for a reason. Who knows, you might grow to love them just like how I did with Rocco! I also want to add that we can't get everything we want. If we were given more power to control stuff, I personally think that things would be less fun.

I think the ability to evict villagers at will would go completely against the spirit of the franchise as I know it and would make the game worse in every way, tbh.

I’ve seen a lot of people, myself included who ended up loving a villager that they did not originally want at all. I feel like if we had that feature to kick them out whenever you would not get a chance to really know all of your villagers and would miss out on opertunities to find ones you reallly enjoy

Like others said, I think being able to choose a villager to leave once per week (or even every 2 weeks) would be my preference! I wouldn't want the option to do it all at once. That way anyone who wanted to replace all their villagers would be able to play and do it over a few months, and those who TT would always know when they could travel to in order to boot someone! I think my biggest thing isn't the timing of it, it's the control over who exactly wants to leave. The current random system has been very frustrating!

I wouldn't like it. I basically feel like there's already that option with TT. I love how characters grow on me, and in the end, a lot of the villagers have the same personality and dialogue, so what makes them different is how they look, so I wonder if it would make less attractive villagers been even more marginalized. I think it's really important for us to be with villagers that we don't like how they look for a certain period of time. Otherwise I think it would just be so shallow, and promote that! Making it more effortful for people to remove certain villagers is fine with me. :)

I hate when the villagers I love the most ask to leave
I always feel like they hate me lol :(
So this would be interesting.

Orrr, it should be based on the friendship you have with the villagers.
like the villagers you have the highest friendship shouldn't really be asking to leave.
like one day i get a photo, and the next they're asking to leave lmao 😞
That is how it works. The higher your friendship is, the less likely they are to ask. It's a pretty subtle difference, which is why you're probably rolling villagers who like you a lot, but it is there.

On the topic of the thread, I would really dislike the ability to ask Isabelle to kick someone out. It would just feel... wrong. It's one thing to lock it behind a paywall since scanning physical merch into the game is already a bit 4th-wall-breaky anyway. But having total control like that just doesn't feel like Animal Crossing to me.
