How would you feel if we could make a villager leave whenever?

That is how it works. The higher your friendship is, the less likely they are to ask. It's a pretty subtle difference, which is why you're probably rolling villagers who like you a lot, but it is there.

On the topic of the thread, I would really dislike the ability to ask Isabelle to kick someone out. It would just feel... wrong. It's one thing to lock it behind a paywall since scanning physical merch into the game is already a bit 4th-wall-breaky anyway. But having total control like that just doesn't feel like Animal Crossing to me.

really? i heard it was random who asks to leave.
i find the ones i have highest friendship are usually the ones asking to leave.
the only villager i have atm who gave me their photo is tia and she's asking the most.

I'd like to have it just as an extra option. Also I disagree it's unnatural (I mean we're a human living among animals after all lol), we work and control most aspects of the island including where people live and if they're allowed to live there. It doesn't seem so far fetched to me to be allowed to kick people out whenever you want even if it's sort of cruel. The game is all about freedom of choice even if that choice is mean, it's why I could hit any of my villagers over the head with a net everyday or trap them in certain areas if I wanted to.

The idea is appealing but I don’t think I’d like it since it - like using amiibo cards do, takes away both the good and bad experiences like getting to know villagers that I initially had no interest while trying to get their picture before letting them leave and the bad - getting them to ask me to move.

I wouldn't like it, I feel like that would make things too easy! Part of the fun of animal crossing is befriending villagers you didn't expect to like, or discovering someone new.

i'm not a big fan, i can see how people would like it but if it was me i'd never use it... having ugly villagers that won't leave builds character
