How to get rid of clothing inside the villagers house?

I gave a villager clothing and they didnt wear it and now it’s sitting inside the house!

I would say to try giving them furniture the same size as the clothing. So if they have a shirt on display, give them 1x1 size floor items. If they have a hat sitting on top of a table, give them tabletop items.
