Bingo! Ho hohoho!
So, how old do you think the player character is in New Leaf/Animal Crossing in general?
The game never really tells you anywhere. So it leaves you with a question, how old are they?
I mean they live in a house all by themselves, so there's that I guess.
Then there's this letter that your mom sends you in the game: "Remember when you were a kid and you ran around saying, "I am an alien from the planet Zeebortron"? What an interesting child!"
So I guess they still could be a teenager, unless she was referring to them being younger than 18.
Then there's things like the trophy descriptions of Villager in Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U:
"An energetic young man from a peaceful town in Animal Crossing, he is eager to make his Smash Bros. debut! His Balloon Trip recovery lets him fly like a character from Balloon Fight. The Villager sets out to answer that age-old question: If a tree falls on the battlefield and foes are beneath it, do they get launched?"
"This chipper chap came all the way from his quiet little village to do a bit of aerial sightseeing, take Lloid out for a spin, look after the trees and maybe do some bowling. If you're very lucky, he might even bring along Tom Nook and the Nooklings and throw everyone a party. Gosh, this all sounds like such fun!"
Young man can refer to a kid, teenager, or young adult. And in the other description, chipper means cheerful and lively, while chap can refer to a boy or adult man.
Also, you can't see breasts on the female characters, not sure if that matters, but, yeah.
For some reason I'm getting the feeling they want you to think of the character to be any age from being a kid/teenager to young adult. I don' know, that's just me though.
Personally I always thought the character was an adult. Though I know some people think they look like kids lol! Which they do, but... Anyway, I think that's it. What are your thoughts?
EDIT: I just remembered that Phineas will call you youngster, and that Joan calls you kiddo.
Though they are really old in the game, so I guess they just call you that 'cause they're so much older than you lol!
