How much did you need to landscape your town?

Well... my town's been pretty bare for a while now and I think I want to finally start REAL work on it. I'm getting a bit tired of building my flower army as I am now, haha.

So my question is: how many flowers/trees/bush starts do you think it took for your town?

(Obviously that might be a bit hard to answer if you gradually worked on it and aren't a "stash all resources away then later use them all at once" type of person like me, lol.)

so far I've only even come CLOSE to finishing the northwest side of my town, everywhere else is bare, and it's taken hundreds of hybrids and 30+ trees, and I'm sure I'll need 50+ bush starts when I start planting them too.

I've made a lot of progress in my main town - laying paths, planting shrubs and building PWPs. I have a camp area with a hammock and log bench and water pump on the northwest part of town and the northeast has a "date spot" with the picnic blanket with an illuminated heart on either side. I'm hoping to unlock the topiary PWPs and plant some more fruit trees and place flowers and it'll be done. I hope.

My second town...sigh, I haven't even started landscaping yet. It's going to be a more enchanted forest theme, though.

I don't know exactly how much I've spent on landscaping, but Westerly is starting to look more like a jungle with all the fruit trees (over 100 at last count) and bushes I've planted over the last 3 months.

Best rule of thumb: It'll take twice as many trees and three times as many bush starts as you think it will. I learned that the hard way, haha.

Dx I think I'll end up needing around 150 bush starts for my town. I'm removing my paths and using bush starts instead. I don't even want to think about how many flowers I've used so far. I'm trying to get every space in my town filled with flowers (save for a small section for fossil spawns). I wouldn't be surprised if I hit the 500 mark for flowers.

this is so accurate it hurts my soul.
my town easily has 50+ bush starts planted and i literally have 60 stashed away for further building. along with 20 more cedar sapplings and loads of hybrids laying around ready to be placed in pretty orders. <3

it just depends on the type of town you're looking for. my boyfriend's town has little bushes and hundreds of just flowers and flowers all over. mine's the opposite- i fancy bushes and trees and use flowers to compliment the greens. : )

As many as you can hoard. Maybe like 100? I never counted I just kind of bought and placed until I was satisfied.

Well I'm still slowly progressing through the landscaping. But at first I had a hybrid garden down on my beach of every type of flower (still do) and planted normal flowers to get an idea. Then when I realised I wanted some colour in my town I moved some of the hybrids up slowly. On one of my side characters I get her to hoard bushes and saplings so whenever I play on her I make sure I run down to the store and buy them. Even if I did everything in one go I'd likely go back and change it as time passed as I got new ideas and so forth. To save wasting saplings I usually planted a fruit tree first to see if I liked the placement then changed it over.

I'm finding landscaping to be a very slow, constantly evolving process.

My first town, Salem, is a little more haphazard, since I was newer to planting bushes, bamboo, and paths. It's also been abandoned for over a year, so getting that back in shape is going to take quite some time.

My new town, Hollowyn, is coming together more slowly. I'm really plotting out the feel I want and taking things one section at at time. It's a longer process, but I think it'll make for a more cohesive town, in the long run.
