How many personalities can you have at once?

I'm trying to make a new town with one of my copies, and I want to get all the pwps from each personality first before I decorate it, then get the town's dreamies. How many can you have? Unlimited or limited? (And by "unlimited" I mean 10 villagers of the same personality at once)

It's unlimited, but you're going to have to invite villagers to your town directly for that to be even a possibility.

Oh ok, thanks. But I can do the same by campsite correct?

The game has every intention of making sure you have one of every eight personalities. So, until you have one of every eight, your campsite and random move - ins will be of a personality you do not currently have. If you have one of each, it will be entirely random.

So if you want 10 that are the same personality (which is entirely possible), you will have to invite from other towns quite a lot.
