How long does it take to get villager pics

It varies really. Some villagers take longer, than others. It's hard to tell.

Keep doing favors until he or she gives you their pic.

The shortest time it took me is one month for a villager pic, but it?s usually way longer. Just talk to them, do requests and give them rare stuff like perfect fruit instead of normal fruit. It also helps to give them refurbished furniture. Good luck!

Giving them perfect fruit when they ask for a certain fruit helps a ton. Also letters are really helpful. Make sure to include the words love, friend, present, and the name of the item you are sending them in the letter. I usually just send them perfect fruit or the stuff they put in retail.

Depends on how attentive you are. If you play everyday and do high valued favors such as handing perfect fruit or giving specific furniture, it can be 2-3 weeks. If you play casually, it usually takes a month.

It takes me forever to get their pictures. You'll know you're becoming good friends when they start dropping by your house for a random visit. The easiest way to get their pics is April Fools day. If you guess correctly which one is Blanca the villager will give you their picture after Blanca leaves. Before April Fools day I had only gotten two villager pictures Good luck and keep doing favors in the meantime. I know it helps to give them perfect fruit when they ask you for fruit. It also helps to know what colors they like. There are websites that have villager favorites charted out for you.

The only time I was asked to get signatures for a petition in other town I got a picture... maybe it counts a lot.

My quickest (this is without time travel) is one week, but that was after whale sharks, non-native perfect fruit, about 40 letters, and talking to them about 100 times a day (for real that many times waiting for them to come out of "thought mode"). The longest took about 5 months, but I didn't put in that kind of effort.

Lots of helpful tips here. I had no idea each villager had a favourite colour. I hate sending mail though which is perhaps why, after a year of playing, I've yet to receive a single picture.

Thanks for all the tips. Been sending them mail, but it's always been a generic "Here, take this" with a random item from Nook's store that day.

I don't send mail so mail is no requirement. I get pics all the time, probably about 1-2 per week in my main town at this point. I talk to every villager I can find either outside or in their homes and I run almost every errand (except some fish/bug requests and occasionally I won't give furniture, I also usually don't show for time set home visits though I always set them up) I only give perfect fruit when fruit is requested, and I talk to them til their opening dialog begins to change to indicate they've spoken to me a lot that day (til just before they have to go think about something)
I maintain a high friendship level this way and it has really paid off, if only I felt like making the effort to do pic trades I'd be set...
