How long does it take for posts not to merge?

30 minutes, but I believe you're supposed to wait a minimum of 2-3 hours before bumping a thread.

30 minutes from what I've seen.

It will stop merging after 30 minutes. I believe this is done so that chatting or spam doesn't continuesly bump the page up. It would probably also make it a battle between people trying to keep their shops at the top of the page. But you're only supposed to post every 2 hours if no one has posted on your thread.
