How Fast Do You Eat?

How fast do you guys eat?

I’m very slow. I’ve always been a slow eater growing up, to the point where I’m far last at the table and during family gatherings, I had people take food off my plate to “help me finish.” It’s been super embarrassing. Sometimes during hangouts with friends, I take less food so I finish eating with everybody else.

Usually I like eating “group” food like nachos or something so I don’t have a designated plate to commit to. Apparently eating slowly is better for your stomach but I take slowness to the next level lol. I try to eat faster but it ends up hurting my throat and stomach to shove food down that quickly.

I eat really quickly. Growing up, my family did as well, so that influenced me for sure. I don't talk much while I'm eating, so that's another factor. I eat slightly slower with my S/O, since we have conversations over meals. But slowing down my eating definitely feels slightly unnatural to me. Not the healthiest habit, I know. XD

anyways... not very fast apparently. Usually when I go out to eat with my family I am usually the last to finish. Maybe I just like savoring my good food or something?
 
Depends on how hungry I am. But I’m usually the first one to finish at a meal.
 
Not fast enough apparently. At dinner I'm almost always one of the last ones eating. When I try to eat faster my stomach just ends up hurting🤷‍♀️
 
I am a very slow eater. I'm basically always the last person still eating when out with other people at restaurants or other get-togethers. It can be kind of annoying sometimes, but apparently it's more beneficial for your health to eat more slowly so I guess I don't mind too much.
 
It depends on the setting. I keep kinda fast when I'm out with other people.

If I'm at home and eating and not doing any other activity like going on the computer or playing games I eat pretty fast.

I'm really slow at eating breakfast because I'm typically not that hungry and working at the same time. I think it took me about 2.5 hours this morning for a small bowl of oats
 
I don't eat as slowly as some people I know, but I do eat the slowest out of everyone in my family. I like to chew my food properly 🤷‍♀️
 
I like to be done eating before my hot food gets cold and my cold food gets warm. But if I’m doing other things while eating, I tend to eat a little slower or if I’m eating with others I’ll try to pace myself so I’m not done waaay before everyone else and then I’m just sitting there looking at everyone else eat. So I guess you could say it depends on the situation at hand or how hungry I am.
 
It depends on what else I'm doing. If I'm just eating, then I'll eat fast, but if I'm reading or watching tv while eating then I eat slower.
 
I'm a fast eater. Growing up, my dad and brother were both very fast eaters and they ate a lot, so if I wanted a chance at seconds I had to be just as fast.

Now, I don't have to worry about them finishing first, but I've realized I can't stand to eat food at the wrong temperature. If a hot meal cools down or a cold meal gets to room temperature, it actually makes me nauseous and I can't continue eating. So I still eat fast just so I don't get sick and can finish my meal.

I don't look down on slow eaters, though. There's nothing to be ashamed of. It's healthier and I wish I could be like you.
 
I’m also a slow eater ): always have been but I can’t bring myself to eat super fast unless I’m in a real hurry.

I do this too actually! I usually am the last one eating (but not so late that people have to wait on me for a while) so I always get a little less or just take my food wrapped up to-go in restaurants so that I don’t keep people waiting. I also like “group” food so I can take little bits at a time and stop whenever other people are slowing down
 
I’m very fast. I’ve tried to make an effort to slow down. I’m not like shoveling my food down but I tend to finish what’s on my plate on the quicker side. If I’m in a group though I get slowed down cause I’m talking lol.
 
I guess I'm a bit of a fast eater because I can't deal with my food getting cold. It makes me feel kinda queasy when my food isn't super hot which is weird but my mom is the same way so that's probably where I got it from lol
 
I'm usually the last one to finish eating at a restaurant. And then, I usually don't even eat all my food and want to take some home for later. If I'm on lunch at work I will try to eat faster because we only have ~30 minutes and I don't want to spend my entire break eating. But generally I eat pretty slow and snack randomly through the day.
 
I practically inhale food. I'm almost always the first person to clear their plate regardless of company.
