How far will you expand your house?

I was just curious about this.

See, I have a living room which is fully upgraded in size, a zen room to the left which is fully upgraded as well and I have an evil sci-fi lab in the basement (where I breed metroids for world domination) which is also fully upgraded. My room on the top end of my living room is becoming a fully upgraded game room, currently a WIP.

Now here is the thing; My bedroom on the right is the smallest version a room can be and my bathroom upstairs is the second stage only and I intend to keep both rooms at those sizes. I feel a bedroom should be small and cosy and if I make the bathroom any bigger it just looks plain wrong and out of balance.

Do any of you guys do this too or do you fully upgrade every room in your house?

I'm debating the same thing. I have all my living area bits set out as 8x8 top, main and basement. And an extra 6x6 in the back that I guess when I get more Polka and Modern stuff for it I'll expand from 6x6. But I don't want my bathroom any bigger and I have no reason to build my left room right now. ~ Though I do have a ton of stuff I want to keep, I don't really fancy having it in my house, and other sets I like I plan on having for extra characters.

The only reason I have for upgrading now is so I can fill my house with complete series, get as high a HHA score as possible to unlock everything that comes with that. But then I am irreversibly left with a huge house.

I kinda wish you could demolsih rooms with Nook in this game. That'd add some longevity to the game as you would then have to pay to re-build them.

I know what you mean. I don't wanna sacrifice getting stuck with a giant house just for the HHA rewards so breaking down rooms would've been very cool and useful. I'm gonna see if I can cheat with certain aspects for the best grade. Work my best with Feng Shui and add gyroids and all that good stuff. There has to be a way without a fully upgraded house to get the best rewards from the Acadamy.

I fully expanded my upstairs, kinda wish it was one size smaller though. I havent gotten my basement but I plan on fully expanding that.
The only room im not sure about even getting is the back room.

Yeah, but isn't the highest unlockable score something like 1,100,000 points? I can only see that happening with 2 complete series in each room, and as many of the lucky items as possible. And before I got my 8x8 top room Kiddie + Fruit series was a bombsite and a half crammed in.

I meant to have only one room, the living room and I accidentally expanded up T__T

I plan to fully expand to mansion just like I have done in all the past games. I enjoy creating new rooms and ways to design and decorate them as well as ways to create separate rooms within a room (like a small bedroom in the corner of a playroom, etc)

I plan to fully expand my other characters houses as well.

Planning to go all the way, but so far, my spooky, sci-fi, and Rococo rooms are all expanded and full theme!

I don't care about HHA scores. The only fully expanded rooms are the main one and the one in the back. The side rooms and basement are smaller, expanded only once. The smallest room is the attic. It's cosy. That's where Skinny sleeps, reads, writes and thinks. :)

I want all the rooms expanded! I'll probably exclude the back room though, as I like where my furniture are in the main room.

I don't want the right, left and back rooms. I think I'm going to stop expanding. I don't like the look of the mansion...

Not Sure tbh :p
i have my living room fully expanded, and it has the whole rococo set..
i then want a room for an egyptian theme, with my throne and genie lamp and the exotic theme..
i want a kitchen
i want a bathroom
so not sure!

Right now I have both side rooms and the upstairs. All of which have been upgraded only once. It's true that you can do so much more with a smaller space when it comes to interior design. Don't let Nook fool you, nothing is worse than a big empty house. I'd prefer a nice cozy house that I can actually live in.

I'm not sure about the basement and that back room. I have bookcases covering the back wall in my main room so it could just be a closet... or maybe even a secret room?

Really? Only 1 room? That's very interesting. Why?

But you do know, even if you do not like the look of the mansion, once you get a left and right room you can choose another design right? Like a castle or japanese style exterior.

Remind me never to visit your town :p
It's awesome; looks and sounds very cool! I'll give you an antidote. ;) Makes you dumb as a cucumber but at least the Metroids won't go for you...IF they escape.

Yeah he's all over you with his evil money schemes! And I agree, small is more often the cosier answer which is why my bedroom will stay at its smallest. And a lot of people seem to not want the backroom for the same reason. I prepared in advance and always left that area empty.

I plan to go all the way and it expand it as much as I can. I make rooms within one room so it doesn't look so empty. :3

I will probably do completely expanded, since all of my themes are going to be pretty big and will take up an entire room.
But yeah, if it was a bedroom, it kind of depends for me...I'd have to see how many bedroom-like items there are. ;)

8x8 main room, 8x8 basement. Every other room will be 6x6. I don't want to have huge side rooms.
