For some reason, I always have the bed, lamp, dresser, vanity etc. lining the walls and I have the table in the middle with 2 chair's behind it, and I always put some kind of food on the table o_o What about you? Just getting so bored of the same layout lol

I like to decorate with some fish/bugs that I have caught ^^ only the pretty ones though. Then I have my bed, chair, dresser and desk. I can't wait to get more items though. I want to have a full fledge kitchen one day.

Pretty much the same as you, sometimes I put the table against the wall though with a writing set on it.

Placing furniture in a room is hard for me. I try to make it look as much like a home as possible. You'd never know how many times I changed my Cabana furniture's placement around.

The same as you basically. In my main room though (my Sweets room), I have to have extra tables and minitables for all the food I have haha, like Korean dlc and holiday food items and such.

I'm obsessed with putting everything against the wall. ;A; I tend to hoard all the furniture I want to keep until I have more rooms, but that just makes my house look like a storage room... (I upgraded to a second floor, but that didn't improve things much) I really need a sofa or a coffee table to put in the middle...

I used to be crazy about layouts that were perfectly symmetrical. My Wild World house's old main room had two complete sets of the Regal series set up to look like a mirror image. I might try that again in New Leaf, but now I'm spicing it up some more.

Two of my four rooms have a spiral layout right now. Basically that's just furniture lined up to the walls, and then moving towards the middle. Sometimes I just go through furniture catalogs and use some of their setups for inspiration! I like Ikea's the most.

I find I lean toward making the rooms have their own function. Which isn't really the way the game is set up. I have four human characters. All have upgraded houses which are still going through gradual upgrading. Three of them have 4x4 baths with a toilet, a shower stall, and a tub. Three of my humans have kitchens.

I don't arrange the rooms in any same order. In some rooms I line the walls, but with a bunch of random items (Like my dango, veggie basket, etc.) and in some rooms I put the table to the side with villager pictures on it, and the chairs on the other side of the room, etc etc. It depends on what looks good to me.

I normally put everything around the edge, lining the walls. But I have inspiration now so tata.

Ugh I am constantly rearranging my furniture.
One day I like the way my house looks and the next day I hate it.
When I finally think it looks perfect, I start picking it apart until I hate it again.
It's a vicious cycle. OCD. Gah.

Usually I put the big pieces of furniture against the walls.
My TV is almost always up against the wall and the couch is kinda in the middle of the room.
Sometimes I use the low table (looks like a coffee table) behind the couch and put little stuff on it.

I have different sets in four of my rooms (including the basement), but my main room is kinda my living room. There is a fireplace and in the middle there is a festive tree, rococo sofa, rococo table, Bam's picture anddd... I don't remember the last thing. I've also got some creepy items in the room and a sailboatmodel. I plan on removing the rococo bed and replace it with something useful :D
But my other rooms are just filled up with a set/serie each and it all goes along the wall.. Quite boring. I should try something different ;_;

I just set it... Depending on my items I guess.

For my main room, I (still) have a Christmassy theme room... I don't think I'm ever going to change it due to my town being "Merry" with the idea of making it Christmas all year. :3 And so I have the fireplace (of course by the wall, lol), the Papa Bear, Ebony Piano, and big Festive Tree along the wall. Honestly, I don't think I have anything in the middle. I always have a hard time finding something that goes perfect in the middle. I tried putting the piano in the middle, but it just looked weird with the sofa in front of the fireplace, and it seemed bald on the other side (where the piano actually is right now). That also goes for my other rooms. Everything is along the edge/wall. The only thing I managed to actually out in the middle is the Kotatsu table for my Japanese room, the sofa in front of the TV (for my modern-like room), and the Sloppy Table for my Basement. It's just hard for me to put anything in the middle of the room when the entrance is in the middle. For example, the first room and the back room. Also the upstairs room (which is my bedroom) because the bed pretty much took the space. Pretty hard to explain D:

I usually get dark colored, relaxing flooring/wallpaper, then I put furniture around the edge of the room with sometimes a center piece (Usually something I've caught, currently its a napoleon fish)
